Larry - I'll get to see if a Powler makes a good snow plow. It's snowing now. They just raised the prediction here to 8" to 12" locally in the city - 14 or more in northern suburbs (Indiana)

Marty....I drove the orange Kat 2 winters complete with snow, ice, salt and sand.....it did as well as expected in the snow.....the nose would plow a line down the center of the street in deeper snow.....if I could get out of my driveway, I was good to go....sure got a lot of strange looks when I rolled up to a light with snow, ice and all the assorted road crap hanging from the car....had a blast :

...now, the orange Kat resides in sunny Florida, and me, still a dumba$$, snowed in here in Indiana..........

Last week, the local weatherman was forecasting 4% chance of snow in Houston for Christmas (a 20% chance of a 20% chance). Now, he is saying we have a 30% chance of snow and is forecasting as much as 3" of the white stuff here! BRING IT ON! I WANT A WHITE CHRISTMAS!

Another example of Global Warming and effects the burning of fosil fuels has on the environment!

For those who don't know Indiana. New Castle is in the middle of the state. Evansville is the very most Southern tip (always at least 10 degrees warmer). We have 17in of snow now with another 15in predicted overnight. Heading for you Marty in Louisville. Being South doesn't always mean better weather.

XRay, it is still like that here in Cincinnati. It is very hilly here and all the idiots try to go up and down the hills with 5 year old tires. There is generally a large pile-up at the bottom of the hills. The grocery stores sell out of everything every time they mention snow. This time they weren't kidding, however.
They had about 20 inches just about 20 miles west of us at the Ohio/Indiana border and they only had snow flurries about 20 miles east of us. It has been snowing all day and it is supposed to snow for another 10 hours. It sounds like rain hitting the windows now. It might be frozen rain/sleet. I would say it will be a White Christmas here. No way all of this will melt in a couple of days.

Just got in from work and I plowed for a couple of hours before turning in for the night.

I would guess about 10" (on the east side of Indy) since it started this morning and they are saying about 3 more to come before morning.

The wind is strong and it is starting to drift. They are calling for up to 30 mph winds. With this much light dry snow it should be fun tomorrow to get around with the drifting.

I keep debating on selling the Bronco, but nights like tonight I really enjoy it. I could put a blade on my Dodge but with the diesel it takes forever to warm up and it is SO LONG it takes a 40 acre field to turn it around, lots of blind spots, so not the best vehicle to do small driveways.

I don't like the snow as much as I use to, but I still love to plow it. 35+ years plowing snow but now I just do it for a few older neighbors and my personal use.

The leading age of the storm has reached us, but because our temperatures are still in the 40's we are recieving all rain. That will change later on today as the temperatures drop.

Larry, I qualify as older. lol
I just did the driveway so Sandy could get out and go to work. We got the car into the middle of the street and got stuck. It was dragging bottom in the middle. We pulled it back into the driveway and she is walking to work. A real trooper. I think I will go take a nap.

No snow to report,,,,,but I'm having a hard time finding parking spots at the malls. Everyone is still out Christmas shopping.

Ed - I'm proud of your story about Sandy,,,,,,keep the driveway clear, lol.

24 - 30" just 10 miles north of downtown. At home (15 miles south of downtown) we got 6" of snow, then it turned to sleet - about 1/2" of that compacted the snow down to about 4" then another 5 or 6" on top on that. It's weird, you sink down through the first layer and only some of your steps breakthrough the second. It's fun driving, wish I didn't have to stay in the office all day!

On the North side of Indy we only got like 7 inches over the past two days. But my parents in the South West portion of the state got 30 inches, close to the number Marty is talking about, over that time frame. Way big numbers for Indiana and Kentucky.

How about more updates. The news out west talks about all the cold and harsh weather back in the Mid Ohio area. I was at the mall today, and many store mgrs. said something about delayed shipments coming through Kentucky airports was really causing problems.

Weather took a turn in Phx. today about 4pm. Went from sunny, nice 64 to the 50's fast,,,now expecting high 20's tonite. That means,,,,,,,,,,its coming your way again?
