I don't think U.S. manufacturers can meet current side impact regulations with a "true" suicide door design, and probably don't want to even think about the potential liabilities involved if the vehicle did not provide adequate protection in a side impact collision. But it still is nice to dream and looks really great on show cars....aahhh...the joys of government regulations....thanks Ralph Nader.
