a lot of us have dogs, cats, birds ... all kinds of family pets.

tell us what ya got and why you love them so much. feel free to describe in detail the funny little things that make them special...

myself... i have a long haired black chihuahua, her name is bamy, shes 5 months old and weighs 3 1/4 lbs. I love her because she always wants attention and makes a huge fuss when i get home from work. she also defends the house from all visitors with fierce determination..."3lbs of black fury"...

look in the test area under ""pictures of my dog""... they just won't post here

We have a 5-yr-old Silver-Gray female Miniature Schnauzer named 'Echo' -- 'a Nymph in Greek legend who pines away for the love of Narcissus until nothing is left of her but her voice!' I take her for 2 walks a day...early morning & late afternoon! Very affectionate, great-natured beast!

I've had cats and birds for pets. Presently, I have an amazon yellow nape parrot named Snipper that's been with me for 20 years. Having the intelligence of a 3 or 4 YO lets her interact with us as part of the family and she gets treated that way. She eats meals with us, we take her on walks, car trips and every other way we can include her. She's playful, mischievous and jealous of other women.
We love her because she's been part of my life for so long and has become family.

Our Dog Ebeniser is 9 years old. We were at the pet shop to get fish and my wife and daughter whinned (HE'S SO CUTE) wanting the dog. I though it would be good for my daugter to learn some responsibility (was I ever wrong)

He has been a very good pet and I was able to teach him many tricks.

But the end is near for him. He has a bad knee and is having trouble getting around. Sue is not able to help him much and he does not like us going and him not able to. He is an old dog, they estimate $1,000 to try and fix his leg. He might not be able to make it thru the surgery, so before long he will be moving on.

Unconditional love. And it is all in how you raise them too.

This is my desk top pic. The story is, for a whole year since she was born she would throw up while riding in a car or my truck. Slobber everywhere. But we were patient and took here on short trips every day. I wanted a dog that could ride with me out to jobs and such.
Now, she is all for it. Loves to ride, feels it's her job I think.
This is me and her enjoying our cruise. :

I just bought my cat a Christmas present today.

I used to wonder what it was about people who personified their pets, treated them like children. I've had my cat for almost 10 years and I completely understand now.

I wouldn't take a million bucks for my cat.

This is buddy. He went everywhere with me since he was six weeks old. Very protective of his family but extremely good natured if he liked you. Lost him to a car on Oct 15th. Worst day of my life !!!!!!!!!

My two MinPins are 3 and 4 yrs old. Biologically, they are half-sisters. They play like puppies.

Ruby is my buddy. Being red, she looks like a minnie Scoobie. (Don't say "Scoobie snack" around my dogs.... They know what that means.) I have taught Ruby several agility course obstacles. She is very attached to me. When she plays, she is very vocal... making noises like Bruce Lee fighting.... hilarious.

Missie, being just 5 lbs, attracts most of the attention when we are out walking. She is a climber - a regular monkey. She likes to play tug-of-war with me every day and at every opportunity she curls up inside my shirt while I am surfing the POA site.

They both have lots of "dogality?" and make me and others smile and laugh every day.

Dorigo - nice looking dog... Really sorry to that you lost Buddy.

I have 4 worthless Taco bell dogs!(can't spell chiwow-wa)They can't be trained to not piss and **** in their cage or any other place they are left. I leave them out most of the day (Pet fence)and at night they are caged! Dirtiest dogs i've ever owned. I get a kick out of my blue Columbian Iquana! (Santana Moss)!

Boomer was my rottie. He had royal lineage. His great grandfather is the only rott in the hall of fame, retiring with a perfect record 65 out of 65 Best of Show. I wanted to show him later in life, and I wanted to breed him along the way. Things just didn't work out in either direction. He died a couple years ago but is still in my heart. It's hard to describe what a pet means to you, except to say that they become a part of your family. He was funny, loving, protective, gentle, a best friend, and extremely smart. I've never known a dog like him, and I have been around dogs all my life. He topped out at 130 lbs of pure muscle. I can't list all the things we did together. He loved going for rides in the car. I could give him a steak bone, then get in his face and take it back, as he threatened to bite my face off, he ended with licking me as I took it. (Got that one on video.) I could also set that steak dinner on the floor, uneaten, and leave the room for 5 minutes, and when I returned, he wouldn't have even gone near the plate. I trained him myself and he learned over 130 commands, including walking backwards. Losing Boomer was like losing the son I never had. After he died, I wrote up something about him and put it online. Its a long read, but a must read for any dog lover. Have your kleenex ready tho.
