tell us what group or person was the biggest disappointment you've seen in concert and why they were so bad...

worse :
1) rush.....total racket... could hardly tell they were actually playing music.. major distortion
2) bachman turner overdrive....major porkers with sweat circles under their arms... music stunk and no stage show at all... the best part was bob seager was the warm up band and kicked a$$ with 2 call backs..

...I mentioned this in another post before I saw this one....sorry to repeat.....

...Worst...I was dragged to a concert in 1974 while living in San Antonio.....Helen Reddy and Mac Davis....it was a horrible evening for a guy...."I am woman hear me roar" ....aaarrrrggghhhhh, it still gives me cold chills to think about that one...

...worst performance....the Turtles...Indy 1969....they arrived about an hour late, played a few of their hits at warp speed, ran from the stage to catch another flight....it was a total rip off....the rest of the evening was spent listening to "Taj Mahal"....not exactly one of my favorites...especially for 3 hours or so....

...most pitiful..."Vanilla Fudge".....just after Woodstock, our highschool decided it was going to be the new rock epicenter of the world.......local radio station hired the group at a cost of $10K....the promoter was the dad of a buddy/co worker of mine....our highschool fieldhouse seats over 10,000 people....fill it and you are rich....there were less than 30 people attending the event...the first band was a local group, "Haji Baba and the Ritual", they left the stage and the "Vanilla Fudge" looked stunned as they entered this massive basketball auditorium and were playing to about 30 kids....

...it was the first AND last concert of the proposed series...

Ray Charles was at Taste of Blue Ash 2 or 3 years ago and played about 3 songs. NONE of his hits. Terrible.

Never been to a concert I didn't enjoy. However, one that I went to was an all day concert with a $h!tload of bands. Alice Cooper, Doobies, BTO, Black Sabbath, and many more. It was one of the best concerts I ever went to, and I got in for free on one of my brothers old unused Blues Brothers tickets. (I even got laid on the 50 yard line, but thats another story. LOL) Rush was on the ticket as well but failed to show. Some unknown band came on stage to fill in and called themselves Riot. They played one song to nothing but boo's. During their 2nd song, they "frisbee'd" copies of their album out to the crowd. The boo's continued, the crowd threw their albums back at them, along with any trash they could find, threw drinks, food, anything. The lead singer said, "I think you're trying to tell us something." About half the crowd yelled back in unison, "Yea! Get off the stage!" Several people commented that if they keep playing, they're going to CAUSE a riot. They were TERRIBLE! Either they ended their show after those 2 songs, or the promotors made them leave. At any rate, they left to wild cheers from the crowd.

Saw Lynyrd Skynyrd before the plane crash, in Louisville... they had a fifth of JD on every amp... the whole band was plastered and they played and sang like crap...

Saw the Four Tops a couple of summers ago at a HIGH dollar fund raiser. They played about 40 minutes, including having some young lady take several tunes. Every one thought they were taking a break when the house lights came up. No one got their money's worth that night. What a disappointment and a rip off.

WOW Milli Vanilli - haven't heard that name in quite a while !!

I remember when they came out - they were the bomb and I didn't really care that they couldn't sing - the songs were pretty cool - look at today's music scene - the "Milli-Vanilli-bug" is still around with many artists lip-synching and nobody gives a crap anymore (Ashley Simpson just the recent one)

I hate to admit this but I went to a Devo concert once. Got free tickets for donating a few cans of food to a food bank.

Couple of weeks ago I went to see Johnny Winter. He used to rock, but now he can hardly walk and his fingers don't move very fast anymore. The bass player had to help Johnny sit down in a chair on stage and had to plug in his electric guitar. He needs to retire.

..hate to hear that about Johnny Winter....I still like to crank up "Frankenstein" from time to time....I remember stopping in Little Rock to see a buddy of mine, and he introduced me to Johnny and Edgars music.....this was probably around 1973.......

The knack (My sharona) really bit the big one. First album(the only one I think), only about 12 songs and no warm-up. Bad company stunk too. They walked of the stage after 2 songs because people were shooting off fireworks in the omni and didn't come back.

I have to agree about Edgar Winter, Leon Russell is the same way now. some good stuff. I went to a Beach Boys concert about 10 years ago during one of their "Here we are again" tours and they stunk. Their guitars were out of tune and they could not harmonize at all, I left early.

I used to really like Leon Russell and loved the song "Lady Blue." Recently bought his Best Of.

The Winter brothers and Leon Russell were really good at one time, but ya have to get embarrassed for them when they still tour and just can't get it on anymore. Guess they need the money and they don't know how to do anything else.
