Minature green monsters tear through the small town of Kingston Falls. Hijinks ensue as a mild-mannered bank teller releases these hideous loonies after gaining a new pet and violating two of three simple rules |

This in response to your trivia quiz: - Don't ever get it wet - Keep it away from bright light - and never, ever feed it after midnight !

1980s Marketing Mistake of the Day:
"AYDS helped me lose 72 pounds," said the advertisement. Shortly thereafter, people started losing weight due to AIDS, making AYDS one of marketing history's great flops. This message has been edited by rsterling78 on 05-09-2004 at 04:01 PM |

Back then Commodore was state of the art along with Atari and Intellivision games. Space Invaders was my favorite at the time...it's still sitting somewhere in the archives .I always wonder how my son would react to these(ancient)games now that all the state of the art stuff is available... |

All right Dr. Prowler - Space Invaders - one of MY favorites as well - I don't know HOW many coins I fed that damn machine back then (before the C64) !!? Here are some more 'classic' titles: - Galaga |

Today's 1980s Car of the Damned The K Car (or, as I like to think of it, the anti-Prowler). |

A little off topic here. This morning I receive a package in the mail from the deeep south which left me in amazement and pleasantly surprised. I open it up and find 2 CDs with the title Prowlin'the 80's-The DR Prowler Edition....from none other than Dusty. I just want to say that you are a real class act and I thank you very much for this nice gesture. Another proof that people on the P.O.a.are second to none! ------------------ |

Here's a link to a website featuring vintage 1980s commercials: http://x-entertainment.com/downloads/ Masters of the Universe Castle Greyskull playset, the Kelly LeBrock "Don't Hate Me Because I'm Beautiful" Pantene shampoo, Encylopedia Britannica boy, and Peter "Ralphie!" Billingley (aka Messy Marvin) Hershey's chocolate syrup commercials are included. I hope it changes your life the way it changed mine. |

Whatever Happened to Scotty Schwartz? Most of us remember 1980s child star Scotty Schwartz as Flick, the kid who got his tongue frozen to a pole on a cold winter day in the 1983 movie classic A Christmas Story. Schwartz was already known to moviegoers from his 1982 performance as Eric Bates in The Toy starring Jackie Gleason and Richard Pryor. One year after A Christmas Story, in 1984, Schwartz would play the precocious child capitalist in the comedy film Kidco. So what happened to this early '80s child star? Believe it or not, "Flick" ended up in the porn industry! Working as both a cast member and a manager for adult film stars, Schwartz was involved in Comeback (1995), Scotty's X-Rated Adventure (1996), Torn (1999), as well as some other films with titles that would not be suitable for this forum. Schwartz has tried to return to mainstream cinema. As of 2001, he was working at his father's Baseball Cards & Movie Collectables Etc. in Westlake Village, California. Below is a picture of Schwartz (right) taken in 2000. |
