I was going to wait to post this, but then I thought, what the hell... and you wouldn't be able to enjoy it as long. I sure hope everyone has a sense of humor... I had to use certain words to make it rhyme and flow right. This is not a reflection on anyone.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all thru the garage,
the cars were lined up in an impressive barrage.
The tools were all hung on the wall with care,
and the compressor in the corner was filled up with air.
The batteries kept warm hooked up to a charger,
and the shadow from the light made the Prowler much larger.
I had just fixed a drink and sat down in my chair,
got comfy and cozy right here in my lair.
Congratulating myself on my brand new promotion,
When down the block I heard some commotion.
I started to get up, but I could find not a reason,
I figured it was kids celebrating the season.
The noise got louder and closer it seems,
then into my driveway I saw some high beams.
I rose from my chair to see who was here,
When I opened the door, Bob gave me a beer.
Behind him was Ed, with his head all a shine,
carrying with him a bottle of wine.
The Prowlers lined up in the street as they came,
and some I recognized from their POA name.
There's AC, and WildCat, and prowlerbabe too,
Fred, Marty, and Mike, with his high voltage blue.
There's CJ, and Larry Lord in his hat,
And here comes John in his Spectraflair kat.
CTProwler was there, and never looked slimmer,
And Jay was so nice - gave everyone a shimmer.
When all of a sudden there came such a crash!
It sounded like a viper running over some trash.
Then up on the roof we all heard a thud.
Bricks started falling, (along with some crud).
A brick hit the dog and he started to yelp,
when from the fireplace, came a cry for some help.
I looked up the flue and saw just a rear.
Then Gary yelled out, "Get me outta here!"
We fell on the floor, laughing til we were sick.
Then tore out the chimney to free ol' 'St. Nick'.
The big red bag he had flung on his back,
held a trophy he'd just won at the track.
He set the bag down, and went right to work.
He's passing out gifts! He's not such a jerk!
He gave Ed a toupe, to wear on his head,
Fred got a seatcover, already dyed red.
Marty got a muffler, that won't make a sound,
and John, some new paint, of glass finely ground.
Mike got a car, to add to his collection.
(Too bad it won't run, and requires dissection.)
Bob got a horn that sounds like a whistle,
To CJ he gave a name with no initial.
We all made a toast, and shouted a chear,
For POA members, another great year!
Then Gary ran, to his viper, in the street.
When he cranked it up, it sounded so sweet.
He revved up the engine, and popped it in gear,
squeeling the tires for everyone to hear.
We all heard him yell as he drove out of site,
"Merry Christmas to all! Now do burnouts all night!"

Thank you everyone for your kind comments.
I have been writing poetry since I was about 10 or 11 I guess. Not many are very good, I don't think, but I have saved them all and told my sister, when I die, to get them bound and printed. Every once in a while I come up with a good one tho. When I was in 7th grade, we had to write 5 poems in English class. Mine came back with grammer corrections to make. I told the teacher that I wouldn't make her changes. To do so wouldn't make it MY poem. The words I chose, I chose for their meaning, be it MY meaning, (sometimes a hidden meaning), or to maintain flow and rhyme. She agreed and gave me an A+. I just felt like giving something to everyone in here to smile at during the holiday season. Seems to have worked. May each one of you have a great holiday season, a very Merry Christmas, and a very safe, and Happy New Year!
