Can anyone inform me about the new Lotus coming out in 2004. Is there a website that I can go to. I've seen that car in pictures and it looks beautiful...I heard they're gonna cost around 38,000...

It's the Elise. don't think pricing has been established yet. Previous models were only available for SCCA racing and not street drivable. Apparently they are going to federalize it so you can drive it on the roads. Previous versions were in the upper $50-60K range but, not sure what the street version would be. It's about the size of a Toyota MR2 and coincidentally will have a Toyota (or some other Japanese) 4-banger in it. Try the FAQ for more about it. I think you can go to your nearest Lotus dealer and put a deposit on one in order to get in line for it. Again, not sure. This message has been edited by YellowFever on 05-28-2003 at 02:39 PM |

YF is correct. I went to the Lotus dealer here in Jacksonville a couple weeks ago and they wanted $1,000 deposit in order to be put on the list and they already had 7 people on the list. I'm seriously thinking about it since the dealership here said the deposit is fully refundable in the event I change my mind when I see it. Obviously that's something I would want to get in writing. He didn't have info on price, engine, or release date, but I have read numerous places that they figure it'll be around $38.5k. |

As you see in my sig. im getting one. I had to put down $500 and im guarantees me $38.5. Engine and other options wont be released until late summer or fall. Once you place an order you cant get your money back. ------------------ This message has been edited by Hollywood on 05-28-2003 at 04:05 PM |
