....another discussion here tonight reminded me that I have EVERY magazine I have EVER bought....I have Motor Trend back to 1959...Hot Rod back to 1958, with a few earlier issues I found somewhere as a kid....every model car magazine I ever bought....Playboy back to 1964(my mom wouldn't let me buy them, so I had to "acquire them"), and hundreds/thousands of other car magazines MOPAR/Vettes/racing/musclecars/including many first issues....I just never throw them out...all are stored away for reference material in chronological order for future use ??? NOT SURE WHEN THAT WILL BE Not sure what reference use old Playboys are good for, I "just read the articles "......old story, and those of you that know me, know I have an old story for about any subject....I was probably about 10 years old and some of my buddies and I were riding bicycles down an alley, checking dumpsters for interesting items...we found several large stacks of Playboy magazines in a trash bin behind a drugstore...well, none of us had a basket on our bikes, so we were like mad men scooping up these magazines and trying to carry them away on our bicycles....so here we are riding down the streets to our hideout(crawl space under a partially demolished house)with centerfolds flapping in the breeze ....forgot to ad, there were several fights over ownership during the division of these treasures.....dumpster divin' for old nudie magazines....yeah, my mom would have been proud....one story she never heard

Used to be same way with mostly Vette magazines and Hot Rod, Motor Trend, etc ... tried unloading them with one of the magazine "guys" at several swap meets ... was going to give like $5.00 for 15+ years worth (that is a lot of paper to lug to a show just for $5.00) ... they ALL went in recycle bin for trash the very next garbage day ... guess I shoulda called you TUIB ... and have kept only the "prize" Playboys recieved over time ... but a friend has the same collection of those that sounds like you have ... now THAT could have value!

I just recently had to buy a new bookcase for my magazines. I keep 99% of them.

Can't begin to tell you how many boxes of old car magazines we have in the basement. He gets every imaginable car magazine and throws NONE out. We've moved 11 times (6 state-to-state moves) and those boxes have gone with us everywhere. Bob says I can't throw them out because you never know when you might need a certain article!....from the 50's??????

In all fairness, however, when I was looking for magazines with covers and/or articles of Prowlers, I was glad he'd kept them all........I found over 80 magazines that feature Prowler!! .........and I admit I read them all, too!

We give them to friends, workout center, church, anyone that will take em. We must get 20-30 different ones a month. Some we don't even order, they just start showing up.

The only magazines I keep are my car magazines.
I subscribe to just about every one and have a tendency never to throw them away-just in case I missed something!

When we moved from Maryland to Florida 8 years ago I threw out 20+ years worth of Playboys. All boxed and shrink wrapped. Took them to the recycle center and threw them in the dumpster. Already had way to much stuff to drag south with us and believe me when I say they weighed "a ton" or more.
