Chrysler Crossfire, the new concept car on display this year at the Detroit Auto Show might be the replacement for the Prowler....DC spokesman said DC has a place to produce a low volume car like the Crossfire, the Conner Ave Plant (CAAP)...Hmmmm, seems like I remember only 2 lines there and the Viper seems to have a future with DC at least for now....but what about the Prowler...we are getting a few new colors soon, Blue and Inca gold...but the new wheels being designed for the Prowler have been scrapped....public acceptance of the Crossfire could spell the end for the Kat....mnaybe it is time, dealers seem to be overstocked with Kats in many areas of the country...time for a new toy...personally, I like the Crossfire from the pix I have seen.....but then, I liked the Atlantic and the Copperhead...time will tell...my guess, the Kat has a shorter life than we may think.......... ------------------ |

wonder where they got the V6 for power. Think its a new design or an underbored version of our car's mill? ------------------ |

Slightly reminiscent of the Mercedes Gullwing? Daimler influence here? ------------------ |

CJ Just recieved new Motor Trend today and they feature the Crossfire also. They list all the same specs except they put the price at 27-30,000 and show it to with a blower on the motor. Pretty cool car. Dang could this mean another car for the cat to share the garage with. My wife is going to kill me if she has to park outside. This would be a great replacement for the cat for DC. ------------------ |

Also in the new issue of Car & Driver, they say it has a custom intake manifold and an Eaton supercharger. Tremec five-speed manual transmission. ------------------ |

$27K to $38K....then with the dealer "market adjustment", should be able to get one for a little under $90K....floormats extra...would like to see another concept come to life...makes buying cars more fun....I don't want to be 90 years old and driving a Buick LeSabre ------------------ |

Doesn't trip my trigger. Ole Yeller doesn't have to worry about any new stable mates. |

What....not topless.....no V8..... NO THANK YOU..... I'll take the Cheby SSR before the CF, but still luving the KAT.... OH yea, with over 1 1/2 yrs of daily driving in Houston, had to put the top up today for the first time bc it was too cold....(should freeze tonight until we get back to the mid 40's by 9am tomorrow...)...and yes, have had the top up a total of about 2 dozen times because of rain or the wife's hair...LOL ------------------ |

Just another fine vehicle built by the folks at Metalcrafters. We haven't heard anything about it replacing the Prowler? ------------------ |

If they build it - they will come..... Maynot have huge sales figures, but respectable numbers. I see this car parked in garages next to the SUVs - one to haul groceries, one to haul butt! DC, will it have an ashtray and lighter? |

If they build it, they need to offer a convertible version and one with a MUCH higher HP rating. They got it right on with the super charger, but need a larger motor, say another 100 cubic inches in the V-6. Gotta at least pretend to keep up with a vette or porche ------------------ |

The Crossfire is in the same class as the Audi TT and Honda S2000. Nice cars but they don't have the style or knock your socks off appeal of a Prowler. The Crossfire: another nice car - but thats about it. ------------------ |

I like mine better... a lot better! Only if it were topless and had a Hemi V-8 would I even consider a test drive. I am a true Hot Rodder and it does not even resemble a Hot Rod!!! Thanks, but NO THANKS, Jay ------------------ |

Didn't look bad till I saw the front end. IMO, that looks horrible and interior looks like every other concept car by anyone. ------------------ |

I really dislike that interior... If I was going to buy a car similar to that idea, my money would certainly go for that new 600 HP Audi, the w16 or whatever it is called, THAT car rocks... if only DC would make something similar... yea yea, the Viper is fast (no offence to Viper Mad here) but it does not have the eye appeal of the Prowler or even of that new Audi (in my opinion of course). ------------------ |

Butchcee, MotorTrend said the V6 it has is the same found in the Sebring. Puts out 200 horses without supercharger. Personally, I don't see why they didn't use the Prowler engine and add the Eaton charger. That would've produced at least 325 horses. Just a thought. They would probably blame it on available space, but IMO, it's a concept; it SHOULD have an AWESOME engine. ------------------ |
