I've been getting a lot of e-mails with virus infected attachments in the past few weeks from what appear to be POA members. This is getting to be a real problem, as I typically get 2 - 3 per day. It turns out that whoever is sending these e-mails is using the e-mail addresses of POA members in the address box of the e-mail. Fortunately, my Norton Anti-Virus system is finding them. I no longer open any messages from POA members coming through my normal e-mail system. Does anyone have any ideas about what is going here, and/or where they are coming from?------------------

Same here. Getting at least 2 a day. Why is this something that someone feels that they should do? I don't get it!------------------ BackinBlack

It is the KLEZ virus and has been around for about a year. It is not a POA member, but a virus that does not die, hence it keeps coming. I sometimes get 5 or 6 a day and almost always have at least one. It attaches to someone else's address book, not from the person listed. It is very aggravating but if your Norton is catching it, you are okay.

Kraut, I agree with Ed, my norton anti-virus catches about 3-6 per day, I also have norton firewall that stops at least 2-4 trojan horse's a day. It updates itself EVERY night. Bob------------------

A lot of those are definately familiar to me. What I'm hearing in all this is that there is no way to stop this. Is that pretty much the case?

No, if you have a firewall and anti-virus software, you should be safe. We have McAfee and I probably get 2-20 a day but, never see them cause the firewall/anti-virus software stops, blocks, and/or deletes it. Also being on broadband, we are on the internet 24/7, if anything tries to access one of our servers, we get a pop-up that tells us what is trying to access and from where. We have the option of granting/denying access. If denied, nothing from that server is even acknowledged from that point forward. Pretty cool and we haven't seen a single virus email in over 2 years.
