Todd --

You say you use Ultra-Cote 2. Why this instead of Ultra-Cote? Is there a difference other than the aroma (pina colada vice new car)?

Rick,

The Ultra-Cote-anythings are a bit difficult to buy in small quantities. I know Todd uses #2 (and embarrasses all the rest of us) for engine-compartment detailing and he recommends letting it soak in for 4 days before removing. After doing some research and chatting with Todd, I decided to try 303 Aerospace Protectant for this application. See a discussion at:
http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/008258.html

See 303's recommendation for engine-compartment detailing at:
http://www.303products.com/techinfo/automotive/hoses.htm

Then again, if you're buying it for the smell, 303 isn't rated highly for smell (then again, I haven't smelled my engine-compartment lately).

Fl, I would assume the 1st edition is not as good, never tried it myself. But the #2, if you have the time, is really awsume!

Thanks y'all. There are just so many choices out there how does one decide.

I would like to go with the Protect-All as it would be fairly easy to get for me (at local Wal-Mart 5 miles from home). It appears Todd uses the Ultra-Cote 2 on everything except maybe the body itself. Can Protect-All be used like this ("across the board")? Is it good for the rubber hoses, etc. Can it be used on the interior or should I go with a leather cleaner and conditioner?

We have a Camping World over in Kissimmee (30 minutes away) and I could get 303 Aerospace Protectant. Can this be used on other parts other than the engine?

Hope these questions aren't too stupid!

Thanks in advance for all your assitance.

Rick

Thanks guys! My engine, I would say, is very clean for 23,000 miles,,,,,,,,,but not the glitter that Todd's engine compartment shows. I air hose off my engine area about twice a month, but I want it to look better.
