I think most people that really like mechanical things like cars, like a bike or two.

The v-rod was only available in aluminum (unpainted like the DeLorean) but, as an option for 2003 (this being the 100th year) they also make it in a silver/black color combo (like all the other bikes).

There are no other color options with the v-rod.

I have ridden a harley 300, 400, and 600 miles on road trips. I prefer these bikes over the fully insulated, full faring, stereo radio/cb, cigarette lighter, 6-saddle bag bikes. If I am going to put that much stuff on a bike, I might as well be in a car.

I prefer the simpler, wind in your face approach of choppers.

Both styles have their audience and neither is better then the other, just a matter of personal preference.

Last night I bought a Red Goldwing MODEL. It is 1:12 made by RoadRider/NewRay. It is not a 1998 but it is fairly close to mine. Probably a 96 or 97. The first time I ever saw a red one. I had seen silver and green in the past.

ED,

yf is right on this they offer a black/silver 100th anniversary. on all the bikes ...

I have about 250 miles on the bike and I have to say it is one bad $ss bike and I really don't care how the V-rod been received by the hardcore Harley People... it looks great,it is water cooled(big plus) and runs like nothing I have been on and you don't see that many on the road

I've owned well over 5000 Harley's over the years (happens when you buy and sell them). I've also owned quite a few rare antique American and some British motorcycles (I'll list a few). Currently putting together an investor group to open the worlds largest Harley Dealership the worlds ever seen (3000 plus bikes on the floor). If anyone is interested in investing in a sure thing, let me know. Some of the cool bikes I have owned are as follows:

1947 Harley Knucklehead (one owner) 4700 original miles with original bill of sale, original paint? of course
1950 Harley Panhead, 10,000 miles (I was the 3rd owner) Original Paint? of course
1949 Harley Panhead, 9000 original miles, original paint, 2 owners
1927 Excelsior Super Sport Twin, Owned by same family from 1928 - 1996, Original Paint
1903 All Days and Onions, 1st year, original paint, had original registration and ran good, only one known (British)
1936 OK Supreme, factory OHC racer, raced Isle of Man, tank was original paint still
1923 Ace 4
1927 Cleveland 4-45
1928 Cleveland 4
(2) 1929 Cleveland Tornado's
(2) 1914 Limited Twins (only 300 made, only 5 known to exist)
1910 Flying Merkel

Just a few of some of the cool bikes I've managed to own for a time.

1968 had a Honda 350 2 banger, sold it on a 1970 350/4 banger, got hit by a car, never been on one since. Enjoyed the breeze in the face but not the traffic in the city. Will keep the "Kat"..

Have owned and ridden bikes for 40 years. I like all brands and colors, and currently have a Honda Magna and a '65 Bonneville. Most I ever had at one time was 5 bikes. I even rented a Harley in Maui, from where I just returned a couple of days ago. They also had Prowlers for rent for $350 per day.
