Gary if you are going to burn CD's to use in the Prowler make sure you buy the GOOD ones the cheaper ones seem to be thicker and jam in the changer.

www.audiogalaxy.com used to be a good resource after Napster died. I haven't been there in a while though.
www.mtv.com offers free music downloads of some of their music they show.

If making a "Best of" CD compilation, you will have trouble copying songs off of CD's that feature a music video. Those Cd's are very hard to extract songs off of, since all the computer sees is the video segment.

Try not to use the CD lables (the adhesive ones). With the heat they get exposed to in the player/changer they tend to peel after a while. Makes a mess inside when they do. If you do use them, check regularly for any bubbles that might form. They could throw the balance off as they are spinning a billion miles an hour in the player.

Gary,
I use Kazaa too.
Dawn does the final CD's using Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.0. It has a way to clean up the songs and adjust the volume of each song so they are the same throughout the CD. That way you don't get some songs that are louder than others.
Take care.

Gary, you need the "Deluxe" version to do those kind of things. The version you get with the drive is a limited version. The full version is $69.99.

You are correct Mr. Jackson. The freebie version of Easy CD Creator that comes on alot of PCs does not have this feature. I should have mentioned that.

Last couple of years have always used Memorex 80 minute music cd.....with the computer burner it will use the regular memorex 80 minute cd...they are on sale at Best Buy this week for $29 for a tube of 100...then a $20. rebate....makes the final cost TEN CENTS per cd blank...they work fine in all my cars...

I switched from WinMX to Kazaa and like it much better.

Also, use CD Stomper system/software for doing labels and jewel case inerts and never had a problem with peeling of labels, etc....

I also got in on the Sams Club deal with Memorex 80 minute discs.

Be sure to shop around for Easy CD Creator. Best Buy has it on sale regularly. It was $99 w/ $79 in rebates when I purchased on 11/28. Couldn't really pass it up for $20.
