I guess it made national news....the morning crash involving 45 vehicles about 15 miles from my home just south of Sheboygan, WI. 10 people dead, many burned beyond recognition. The cause, probably higher than appropriate speed for conditions and dense fog. Many vehicles went uncounted because they didn't resemble vehicles anymore. The wreck started in low-lying Lake Michigan-effect fog on a stretch of I-43 that parallels the lake. I am convinced that when I can't see ahead of me in fog, I cannot understand how the guy in the 4-wheel drive passing me could possibly have a better view. He must have infrared night vision cameras. There's no way they can see any better than you can, if you're in the lead. Best to let them find out the hard way, I guess. Let 'em pass and God bless them as they drive into the clouds. Today's driving lesson around these parts is a sobering reminder of what can happen to ignorant and the unlucky. This message has been edited by Paul on 10-15-2002 at 11:35 PM
