This is a long shot... but does anyone on this message board know how to work Ticketmaster better than the average joe? -- I unfortunatley was shut out of mail order tix for the phish concert new years eve at Madison Square Garden, as well as the follow on shows in VA. Anyway... tix go on sale to the public on Friday, and I was hoping someone here would be able to help a prowler fan out. If you happen to own a ticket brokerage or work at ticketmaster and could help me out that way.. I would be forever grateful. Hey, I told you it was a long shot thanks adamb |

Adam - I'm sorry to inform you, but this group is probably more accustomed to getting tickets for a Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond, Jim Neighbors, etc type entertainers Ed has all of John Denver's song albums, but that would be of no use to you. You might try KidRock, Spoons, or SnapCase at this website,,,,or use the ticketmaster's 800 # direct instead of the internet. |

I'm not knocking Neil D,,,,,just pointing out the facts here Neil's bank account is too large for me to knock him. Have you ever heard of the Cleverley Bros.? Two guys at this website who formed their own band,,,,,,,not very good, but they put on a good show. |

For you Neil Diamond fans, if you've not seen Saving Silverman, then you MUST go rent it immediately. Three guys have a Neil Diamond tribute/cover band. Neil himself makes a cameo. If you're in the mood for a silly flick some time, check it out! Mike |

One trick I have heard about, but never tried, is to get a local number for a ticket master in a small town somewhere close to where the concert is. Supposedly, they get less calls and are easier to get through to quickly. ------------------ |

My tip is similar to HouTexan, if the event is here in Cincinnati, we call ticketmaster in Louisville, Dayton, Columbus, Indy or Lexington. You have a much better chance of getting thru to them. In Cincinnati, they have ticketmasters in all of the super markets and I have done okay a few times, there. Most people do not realize they have them at the service desk at the grocery store. PS, I do like Neil D. |

Another trick for those truly waiting until the last minute: On the day of the show the band and/or promoter will usually release "house seats" about 2 hours or so before the doors open. These seats become available because in most instances, the EXACT seating arrangement isn't know until the stage is set up. In addition, sometimes band guests or record company execs plan to attend, but end up cancelling at the last minute. These are usually good seats, but you have to jump on it quickly, on the afternoon of the show. Just my 2 cents. Kevin ------------------ |

Kevin, excellent point. I got tickets to see Mel Torme (while he was still alive lol) at Music Hall for $ 5 each. They were restricted view tickets. We were in the front row and see ourselves every year on the Cincinnati Pops Christmas show. A woman behind me asked me where my "regular" seats were since I was sitting in her "regular seat" but was told she could not sit there. I wanted to tell her I paid $ 5 so badly but I didn't. Sandy wouldn't let me. |

Adam, Got your email, but was too busy at work to respond yesterday. Request should not be a problem. The person I needed to speak to left early yesterday so was not able to find out information I needed. I will be able to find out on Monday. I do hope you will have the Kat by the Skyline Trip!
