MM watch your step being a Canuck, remember what they taught us in school. Turnip juice is very slippery, and the trucks are driven by the worst drivers from other places on earth ( AC's first job growing up) so don't get on one no matter how many turnips they offer you EH

Hello everyone, I got back late last night with my new and improved prowler. I arrived to the SnakePit around 2pm and got to look at this guy Fatman's prowler, his real name is Jerry. His prowler is really modified. I've never seen anything like it. He took me for a ride down the country road and hit the nitrous and his cat really jumps. I could see his doors open a lot farther than a stock so I looked real close to see what had been done but could not see any modification. After a discussion with them I had him do the mod to my cat. It took about 4 hrs. and when he was done my doors opened 7-3/4" on the driver side and 8" on the passenger side. I'm not sure exactly what he did but he removed my hinges and door panels. I am glad I made the trip, it was worth it to me. He charged me $900 because I brought the car to him. Your a master craftsman Snake, these guys got you all wrong. Thank you again.

Hello eveyone, no questions or responses to my new upgrade? I guess you guys have your own club here and new memebers have to make the grade. I thought someone would have something to say about this door upgrade. Day 2 and I love it.

Jeff - If you are happy with the mod, that is all that counts. I think many explained their opinions already. Please join us often with any questions or add your input to any topic.

Jeff, I am glad you are happy with the modification. Personally I still would not even pay $900 to have it done. Without knowing what he did I can't say whether the charge is reasonable or not. Even if I knew what he did, I still probably couldn't. I am short under 5' 8" and the door opening has never been an issue for me even more so since I lost 42lbs. For me the $900 can be better spent on other modifications I still want. Like Alley said what makes you happy is what is important. I am not sure what more we could have asked you since you already told us how much farther your doors now open, that you did not know what exactly he did, how long it took him and why he only charged you $900.That pretty much covered everything. I don't know what Jerry told you about the POA and its members. But please listen to both sides before you form opinions. I don't think the lack of responses was a snub in any way. The people here are not like that, I can assure you. If you would like to chat off line contact me. I promise I will be honest and truthful in every respect. Please keep posting, enjoy this site and the Prowler experience.

Hello again, its day 3 and my doors are just great. This is the only mod I will have done to my Prowler. It was the only fault I could find with the car. I have also heard of some mud flaps but do I really need these? I would never drive my car in bad weather. I looked to the front fenders and found 3 metal tabs, I think for the mounting of the mud flaps but can not find any on the rear. Beware, I asked Jerry(Fatman, I do not know why he is called Fatman, he is not) what he thought of this website. He just laughed and then said this site has a lot of information for new owners. I think there is a click of sorts here. Just like any club or gang. I will just say, its not my cup of tea.

The three tabs which you see on the front fenders are in fact for the fender flaps, The flaps will minimize rock chips on the side of the car. The rear flaps use the same screws that hold the tailight assembly. I personally think the fronts are a must. I only have them on the rear because my bumpers are painted and also to add protection for my trailer.

SLAPNUT- this site is open to all. As far as a clickish~I thought the same thing when I first signed on. If you notice, there is a better bond between those that attend the get togethers then those that dont. They have more to share then info. I have yet to attend a function because of car woes, locality of the functions and funds for the long trips. Form your own opinions~ an old motto, believe nothing of what you hear, and half of what you see. Start posting and see how fast you fit in-you might like this brand of tea after all. JMO

Hello again, I know what your taking about butch. I personally form my own opnions. I think this topic is getting a little off the subject of this door mod. I see everyones little gold stars showing your support for this site. My understanding is that the site owner is filthy rich. He must be to have so many Prowlers and I saw a couple of Vipers in his collection. I ask why then, with only a handfull of regular posters, does he need money from this so called team? If I had this guys money, whatever I spend on this site would be my gift to them. They do say the rich got that way from not spending their money. I guess I will never be wealthy with money.

slapnut..........the subject of the door opening has been brought up before. Our Prowler engineer from DC relayed information in the past that addressed why the door openings were limited. He stated, "The Prowler door hinge limits the opening of the door so that the door does not interfere with the cowl and hood side panels. The main issue is the narrowing of the body from rear to front. The hinges were from the parts bin, but the opening limit was revised." That is just FYI for you, I don't have any idea what the long term ramifications may or may not be when modifying the doors.

With regard to the issue of Mike K providing this website, he and Tony Goertz started the site two years ago. It was offered to us out of their generosity. At that time, all who posted and became "members" offered to help fund the site. Mike graciously declined our offers. We are not an official "club", just a group of people who have a common interest and passion for a great car. We do not have officers, nor do we charge dues. There are a good many "members" who post regularly, some who post occasionally and some who never post, but read regularly. Whatever they are comfortable with is fine. We hold a great many "national" and local events. Everyone is invited and anyone can attend. All of us have reaped the benefits from this site which at the very least, is a wealth of accurate information about our cats, great events to attend, comraderie, humor, resources for aftermarket parts of all kinds, ideas for modifications, support and friendships with people who come from all walks of life.

The site has grown tremendously in two years and so has the needs of this website. Speaking for myself, I would never be so presumptuous to expect Mike to continue to totally fund this site. His personal financial situation should not have any bearing on this. There are a great many people on this site who assist others by spending their own funds. We all have no problem reimbursing them for the merchandise and their help. My husband and I are not wealthy, but I've done a lot of shopping and shipping for the members on this site. I can't afford to just do this out of my own pocket and everyone has been honest and timely in their reimbursement. I don't see any difference between that and the funding of a site that everyone benefits from. The campaign for funding assistance is voluntary, not required.

I would hope that you continue to visit the site and form your own opinions, as you said.

Thanks for listening!

'Being Filthy Rich', it was very upsetting to me.

Do all people that are better off owe the not so well off? NEVER.

Mike and Judy have done everything to keep site going and to this day, this site has never been a money maker.

Now that it is time to ask for some funding for a new server so that POA can still grow at the pace that we are a accustomed to, there seems to be some waves.

I hope we can all move on and be a little more positive.

All of these moneys will be going for the betterment of this site, this site wasn't put here to be a money maker but just to break even, so us Prowler People have a place to hang our hats.

Sorry for the late reply, just saw this today.

Well I see the gold star team (a bunch of brown nosers) are on my case now. Ed, I see you kept your brown nose out of the picture on your banner. Couldn't you come up with a better response than that? Gary, who I don't think has ever worked a day in his life, the rich do owe the poor, just ask Jesus but I can tell your not a man of God just like Larry Lord. CJ, lets see, you own 2 Prowlers and a cottage in the hills and no real life except this web site. Prowlerbabe, I'm not going to waste anymore of my typing on your response except to say you fit right in with this bunch of nosers. Butch, I never said anyone owed you anything. What I meant is that with the millions that Mike must have to be able to spend $200K on the last Prowler, I'm sure $1300 is not out of his budget for a new server to keep his nosers happy. The bottom line I get from this site is that most of you bought a Prowler to get people to look at you. Conceded, aragonite and so full of yourselves, I do not care to get to know any of you nosers and I'm sure the feeling is mutual. I'm not like you. I guess I have formed my opinion of this site and its members that have been replying. Please, no more replies on this, you will only show more of how ignorant you are.

Slapstick, Guess I'm ignorant. You really ought to stick around. You're amusing. Post more often. It really doesn't matter if you're wrong on most of your views. You're entitled to your opinion. You gotta be Jerry or his clone.

Mike ponied up more of his money to help stupid people post here.
Please, no more replies on this, you will only show more of how ignorant you are. ANSWER: I don't think you have the right to tell any of us what to do, especially since us NOSERS are paying our way and you are freeloading. Where else can you go and insult the guy who is paying the bills. I think
instead of sending any money to the POA you should save your allowance until you can go to a Dale Carnegie class.

Slapnut - chill out dude. Sounds like you must have been hanging out on the board for a long time without posting since you seem to know so much about some of the people.

You are certainly entitled to you opinion but if someone says something you don't like - challenge them on it. Calling them and everyone else names won't settle anything.

Finally - if you think everyone who doesn't share your opinion is against you, like you said maybe this isn't the best forum for you.

Enjoy your Prowler - wasting your time and our time insulting people isn't accomplishing anything positive.

slapnut,

First I want to say, I'm sorry if you were picked on at the playground while you were growing up, or if someone kicked you while you were down.

Second, Thank you!!!!
You have motivated me to finally sit down and write out the check to Mike and Judy.

This website has provided alot of information on the car I love. More than I have gotten at the dealer or through the certified prowler tech that works on my car. It has also provided me the opportunity to meet people that I probably never would have met.

Mike and Judy, the check is in the mail.....Thanks for all that you do.

Since you've brought me into this, I'll say that maybe you should join the FAT MAN in the bath tub & the two of you could play with your "rubber duckies" together.
