Upon pulling into a covered parking space at her work my wife hit the metal pole that is one of the supports for the carport. What would you do if your wife did this? Don't hold back. I am taking a poll to decide her punishment. Here is some info on the car... it is a special ordered 2001 BMW X5 4.4L with 20" wheels. ------------------ This message has been edited by cnote6 on 05-14-2002 at 09:48 PM |

I hit a dog with my Kat about 3 weeks ago and am in the process of fixing it now. No matter what we feel and don't get me wrong I LOVE my kat, but a car is still just a car. Yes, even the Kat. Be mad for about 24-48 hours, giving her the evil eye and lip sneer every time she opens her mouth or looks at you and then get over it. It can be fixed. Just be thankful it wasn't a serious accident. Voodoo |

You're kidding, right? It's a car.....it was an accident. Give her a hug and a kiss and tell her you are glad she's okay! |

CJ is right, but this is what Chris wants to hear: Keep the car, sell off the wife |

sure Chris.....you probably wrecked the damn car but want to know if the rest of us would persecute you if we knew the truth. Ha! Seriously, it's just a car. And Lavka's right...life is too short to sweat the small stuff. |

Chris... tell her not to worry, accidents happen... and then when she is around everyone and the topic is right, remind her how blind she is and goes around hitting poles all the time Not to sweat it though, it's just a car and can be fixed... I've damaged the Kat's THREE times because of ophie parking stuff in our driveway (where it's not supposed to be) and I cannot see down it when it's dark...and of course I blame her and she blames me... what to do? Not worth the stress. ------------------ |

OH, Though you meant a prowler. Kiss her and say don't worry about it. Mine won't even drive my cat even though I have asked her to. She said if she would wreck it she's not sure if her aunt in North Carolina is far enough away. ------------------ This message has been edited by onaprwl on 05-17-2002 at 04:34 PM |

My wife has done this - a number of times....... Nothing you can do. Love 'em like you promised. For better or Worse. This time it was worse. John PS. Although if she found out I posted her "accident" on the WEB, I'd be dead................ PSS. Dean put things in perspective this evening - a woman in a picture on the general discussions board having her 4th cancer surgery. The car can be fixed....... |

For the first 27 years of my marriage, my wife wrecked EVERY car we owned at least once(some twice)...she even wrecked two in one day...then she took a 3 year holiday but she is back...wrecked her new Vette with only 900 miles on it...oh well....I brought home a few cars in the past with parts from other cars smeared onto my car.....just be glad she is okay...they are just cars ... ------------------ |

A buddy of mine used to say, "It's just sheet metal". Of course that was in 1977 when that's all there was to a car. Seriously, when the vows to cherish, "in good times and bad". This is the bad but bad could be sooooo much worse than this. Think of how good it will look when it's repaired. Don't ever make your wife feel your inanimate object (car) is more important than she is. It's a recipe for divorce. ------------------ |

Chris: Ken is usually the one wrecking our cars. Go out in the garage throw a few things (back the prowler out first) and get it out of your system - go give her a kiss and be thrilled she wasn't hurt in any way. A car can be fixed. Besides, who put that stupid pole there anyway?!? See you Memorial Day weekend. Tami F. ------------------ 2001 Eddie Bauer Expedition |

Chris, If it were my wife I would give her a Kiss and a hug and be thankful that it was only the car that was damaged. The question that needs to be asked is "Is she all right?" Good luck in choosing your "poll". Looks like everyone else is leaning towards "forgiveness". Dan G. |

My suggestion - like most above. She probably feels bad enough about it. Get it fixed on move on. Here is a thread from last year. I like the one about making her dye her hair. How would Christy look as a red head or brunette? ------------------ Driving my Dream |

Chris, We all know women cant drive! I'd start with a new sharpie across the forehead and write, " OUTTA MY WAY! I CANT DRIVE!" then the sears driving school would be good. Then the "pay back" Idea sounded WONDERFUL!! (you can even give her the keys to mine if that works!) LMAO! If none of those work, I'd get the needle nose pliers and start pulling toe nails out.....SLOWLY!!!! LOL Just kidding Christy!!! You see why Im not married now dont you!!! Chris Ive got her hating me so bad and we havent even met!!! LOL David |
