I like it but not sure what to think yet about the rear. I like the old style better myself but since I don't have one nor do I have the money to get one I'll just shut my mouth. I do like the inside though.

This is a new model called the "H2". Smaller then the original but, just as qwercky on the freeway.

Priced in the $50-60K range. Too utilitarian for me. Too many other nicer SUVs in that price range too.

Automobile had a big write up about it a few months back.

Hey, FIXUMM, is that the trailer you said you were towing. Looks like a JEEP front end to me. Thought I would see if I could get a rise out of you!! Count Down=10 days to take off.

Don't let this HUMMER 2 fool you.

It is built on the suburbon frame and made from the GM parts bin. Unlike the Orginal hummer which was an extreme off road vehicle this is Hummer 2 will take no where near the abuse a REAL hummer can. The First boulder invested incline the Hummer 2 makes will twist the frame like a pretzel.

One the Positive side it is nice looking mini of the original.

My 2 cents

How to detail a HUMMER:

Mix 4 lbs. red earth with 1 lb gray clay and 1.5 gal swamp or pond water. Apply with steel wool to all painted areas. Add sand, gravel, road dust and mud to all air vents, window and door moldings (save a few ounces for the air cleaner, fuel filters and tanks).

Liberally apply animal fat (properly rendered, hot summer preferred), or road kill juice to outside windows, mirrors and headlights. Inside window treatment--cigarette film, smudges and Dog drool. Dried blood, black ink or asphalt properly applied to the upholstery is a must. Soak floor mats liberally with with a mixture or 1 part each of ethyl alcohol, ethylene glycol (anit-freeze), diesel fuel, gear lube and motor oil (synthetics of coarse).

A large tree limb, old sewer pipe, or I-beam through the passenger window adds a nice touch. Scorching the rubber tires with a torch adds real class. Finish off by rubbing large stones over all painted surfaces and accent with a selection of dings and properly positioned dents.

Brian R is correct, it's not a real Hummer and can't take the abuse as a "H1" Hummer can (The first ones). The "new" Hummers, the "H2", is still pretty vicious. It'll easily surpass Land Rovers and Jeeps, those that are stock still.

The frame started as a tahoe, and was re-fabricated with stronger components and a large suspension upgrade. The geared hubs will help quite a bit with ground clearance. It's still not the first Hummer, it's meant as an offroad sometimes SUV. That's why pricing announced TODAY was set at $48,900 base. It's 1/2 of a Hummer.

BEN have you owned a hummer before your 2000..the older ones kind of sucked now with the TT4 they are the best. and have you been to the hummer driving academy. if not it is a must. it cost about 4K a person but what a blast.
