Let me guess - Both Rick and Al like the GT40 because it's yellow? I am sure that means, Al Becker, Darcy, Dave Mills, and all the other yellow cat owners are going to jump on this too. Marty, ditto on the black Ford 49. Would place my order if they would take it. It needs the Mustang Cobra engine. At Detroit this year they had the 49 Conv. |

Not Positive, but I heard the convertible looking `49 at the Detroit Auto Show was the Black `49 hardtop repainted and FAKE convertible top added. Did anyone see it with the top down? I would like to have it for a driver. yellow GT 40...HUMMMMMMMMMMM ------------------

Larry, now that you mention it, the 49 did have a rather thick and somewhat fake looking top. I have never seen it with the top down. Rick |

Lets hope Ford finally does it right with the GT40... last I read it's no longer a concept and actually a prototype.. They're going to be making these.. Finally Ford might have something in the ranks with Viper and Z06! Ford IMO always tend to underpower and overprice... Like the T-Bird. They could have made that a Vette compettitor like back in the late 50's, but alas, they made that slower and more expensive than a Mustang. I can't wait to see the GT40 on the road! It could be another Ford I actually like! ------------------ |
