I just put the neocube external one in and i had to solder one wire. But of course, i managed to mess something up but i dont think it was my wiring. The PS2 will boot my backups and everything fine just like it should with the new mod chip installed BUT for some reason my controllers arent working :-( The little button for the analog light can be turned on and off but that is about it. Now i did manage to break the little tab clippy thing that holds the ribbon in but i cemented everything so it wouldnt come out and it still aint working. Not sure what i did wrong but if anyone knows maybe they could help me out. Also, does anyone know who to contact to possibly get parts for the PS2? And, is there anyone who installs mod chips on the PS2 that would do it for me in case it was operator error after i get the controllers fixed?
