No offense P&P, but the problem is that if this had been the markup practice all along, people such as myself would have never been able to afford a Prowler. Chrysler designed and built this car priced so even the average person could own one. ------------------ |

Rich, I think he was stating that "tongue in cheek". But I agree with you wholeheartedly, dealer gouging and no advertising is what caused the premature demise of the Cat. It's all over but the shouting, now. ------------------ |

This is true. I hate those dealers that do that. I could live with a little mark up but anything over 5 thousand is crazy ------------------ |

When the Prowler was live, the price gouging was almost criminal. I am certain that many cars that could have been sold, were not sold just because of this. But now, the Prowler is dead. The dealers can gouge because there are none being made. "I've got this one, but I can't get any more" The dealer rip off may establish a higher value for the cat, but I think it will really just be a spike and not have much effect on true value. ------------------ |

Well, I hope dealers start marking up every new prowler on their lots now. All that is going to do is help us owners out, and most likely make our cars worth more $$$$! ------------------ |

Reggie, Reggie - Don't blame us because you waited three or four years to buy a NEW cat under $35,000. Go cash one of your jumbo CD's and buy one. Ten grand over list ($55K now) isn't going to hurt you one bit. Support the economy there in Carolina Maybe you can get that one priced at 80,000? They might throw in the trailer also. ------------------ |

StArFlAmE, I would cut him out of the will. He sure got surly since he has to get up in the morning and go to work like the rest of us ( I mean like the rest of you), lol. Sasquatch, you will not be inheriting that T-shirt collection but maybe will become the T-shirt museum director. ------------------ |

To my understanding, Chrysler only planed to build the Prowler for 5 years, so gouging probably didn't cause there demise. The dealers can ask what they want now, I've got mine!! Gary |

There's a dealer here in TX that is advertising 6 Prowlers, New for $39,900...There are MSRP and less all over the place if you spend the time to look. I paid MSRP on a new TBird at the end of October but searched for 2 weeks until I found one that was actually available and at the price that I wanted to pay. I hope the DC dealers that are gouging on Prowlers get stuck or have to use the buy back. Anyone that actually pays that kind of money is nuts...no wonder Motor Trend calls the "Market Adjustment" money, Stupid tax. JMO ------------------ |

I was at two dealerships this weekend, one had a silver 02 and the other had a 01 mullholland. Both had additional Market Adjustment stickers on them putting their prices around $50K-$52K. Funny thing is, both also had big signs with sale prices on them, marking them down to around $38K/$39K. So much for the "Market Adjustment". ------------------ MTD Prowler Intake System 2.2 |
