Ed,
I'm glad things worked out for you - sorry about that price increase but don't say I didn't warn ya!

Let us know how the new pads work out!

Ed, quit riding the brakes! Why use them now, I don't think you ever used them in the Prowler.

Andy, the reason I never used the brakes on the Prowler is because I never take it over 35 MPH, even on the XWay. Honest, you can trust me.

I received the brake pads for the PT Cruiser yesterday. I have not installed them due to the cold weather and my cold. They are EBC brand. Part number DP 61259. They are made of Kevlar. The direct web site is www.GreatBrakes.com or www.ebc-brakes.com. They are located in Plano, TX on Spring Creek Pkwy. 1 866 GR8 PADS (toll free). The box says they are in Boulder City, NV on Buchanan Blvd. 702 293 3332. Buying direct may be cheaper. There is not much info on the web sites. To order call the 866 number.

Ed,

Here is the scoop on the grille trim. We purchased a kit (individually cut pieces) for the PT from PTWoody. The size is smaller than the door trim (20' length) we purchased at PepBoys to put on the Prowler grille.
Size for PT trim is 3mm thick, 7.5mm wide
Size for Prowler trim is 5mm thick, 9 mm wide.

We have seen both, IMHO the kit looks better, but the door trim will work.

Hope this helps.

Come to Toledo and I can get Zoel to do any flame kit you want and he has all of them. He did all mine and JD's too.

He can design and install too.

Thanks for the pic, Norm. I think I am just going to leave it stock, except for the upgraded brakes. Ditto to Sasy.

Just an update. The weather got up into the 50's today, the sun was out and I am over the flu. I removed the front wheel and pulled out the old brake pad and it looks absolutely nothing like the ones I received in the mail. I have the wrong pads and I guess it is back to square one. Mine is a 2002 so I don't know if that is the problem. They are not even close to being the same.

You might want to try contacting this company, PT-Tuning located in So.Cal. There phone number is (310) 643-7686. Ask for Guy or Maier. They have tremendous experience with performance parts for the PT Cruiser. They have manufactured there own line of brake kits for the PT Cruiser. They also have a webite, www.PT-Tuning.com. They are a great group of guys and there service is impecable. They will treat you the right way. They support both the PT Cruiser Club & the PT Owners Club.
