I was wondering why it takes so long for some Prowler owners to get their Cats back from being serviced? I see Gary C and guys that take their Cats to have special things done to their engines seem to take forever. To have a supercharger installed by Paxton seems to take 3 or more weeks. Paxton has done the upgrade before so should have the parts to put the supercharger in, so what takes 3 weeks? Hey, I don't mean to pick on Paxton. I hear they are a very reputable company and do a great job. I am sure they are no worse than most anybody else is.

Others have taken their Cats in to dealers that have taken months. The funny thing, to me, is everybody seems to think this is reasonable. I don't get it.

An entire engine does not take a whole day to do. Take a car in to a good dealer and he can do any job in one day. The only exception is if they have to wait for parts this can take up to a week, but one-week and a day seems the most anyone should have to wait for anything wrong. In fact you can tell that must be the case. That most dealers or D/C will give you a free car to drive if any repair takes over a day should be a clue. They don't have to do it almost ever, because almost any job can be done in a day.

Most dealer's simply do not want to work on Kat's and their service is a way to get you to go away.

PP, I gat screwed by Scott up there in your country and Paxton cam eto the rescue and saved my butt and had my car done in three day swhere Scott had my car to 60 days and overcharged me and didn't have the car running, 3000 grand to have my Paxton installed. Paxton saved the day. Talk to the Norcal Scott he is the one that bent me over.

The work being down now on the Kat is my slow pace and no one elses. My car is apart at home and should be done very shortly.

This is my story. thanks PP, .

Jim, the guy working on my car is a one man band. While the kit I'm using came off another cat, little will be used from the original installation. All new aluminum bracketry is being made and piping is being adapted from the Paxton settup. The heads were off and flow work done. Cats had to be gutted, and the Paxton headers had to be modified for clearance for the different blower. The exhaust has to be modified for conection to the Paxton headers. The brake reservior has to be moved and a different management system has to be made to work.In reality, I think the guy has the car 2 months too long, and hates to let a shorter time frame, big buck project go by, so I get shuffeled to the back. Threats when your car is apart in someone's shop wont get the car done any faster, and certainly wont guarantee the quality of the finished product. My guy has something to prove as his earlier installation was less then sucessful. His only warning is that the Whipple will be NOISY! I'm only speaking for my situation and dont know the reason for Paxton's delays. I know Mark had to wait some time for his NOS installation also.

Al,
Dean did have the car for 6-7 weeks but that was kinda my doing as I told him take his time because it was winter (February and March) and I couldn't drive it anyway. Then once it was finished I had to wait for the roads to clear between Denver and Grand Junction b4 I could pick it up.
He is now flying out to where the car is and doing the install in just a couple of days and from what I hear it is working great. The biggest problem he has is getting the parts from NOS since Holley took over.

Jim,

My Cat has only been in a shop no longer than 2 weeks.

There was one exception with my Radiator install but that
is it.

Later...

OK, thanks guys, I was just wondering. I don't think I could take waiting more than a week to get my paws back on my Prowler again. At least most of you want the wait or at least understand it.

I guess if you want something special done, you have to wait sometimes.

What about you JD? Have you gotten your Cat back yet? You must be going crazy. I see someone already asked you that, but you haven't answered yet. At least for the last month I have been able to beat you. Mine runs….lol
