David- THANK YOU! I apppreciate you posting these photos. I'm blown away by how different my Kat looks now, but I LOVE it! It's like having another new Kat in the garage. Al- The grille is absolutely AWESOME! Definitely needed to be fitted, but about a half hour and it was done. Some other work to be done this week to the nose spoiler. John Davies- I need your help there. Thanks also to Mark Gerisch at M&L for all your hard work. Now I can't wait to drive this Kat all the way to Deadwood! Oh Yea... Dan Pena, How about some help on the banner & avatar. ------------------ This message has been edited by PaulR on 06-09-2001 at 10:54 PM |

Looks Great Paul. Off the subject, how does the guy in the Red Cat have paint left on his car, with no front fenders. Does he drive it? The Purple looks really classy with the grill. I am anxious to see it in person at Deadwood. |

Ed- it's funny you mention that fender. Cnote had to trim and modify the fender area to get the new wheels on. DannyA was driving home from Cnotes place an heard something clanking, pulled over and WOW 3 out of the rivots were gone, so he just took off the fender until he could get a better chance to work on it. It was pretty funny though, one fender on oand one off. That's why he pulled straight in and didn't back in! hehehe ------------------ |

Paul, Grill looks better than I thought it would. I thought a `34 grill would look good and it does How do you like Tom's light kit? ------------------ |

Larry- Tom's lite kit worked great. I had to fit one side a little, but 10 minutes and it was fine. The ground effects really help the grille. I think 3 or 4 other Kat owners here just ordered Tom's kit also. ------------------ |

Boy, I am tempted to take off the bumpers and do the same On the Black Tie, would I use a silver or black front spoiler. How does Tom's kit work with the lights. PS Where did the grille come from, and what quality is it. ------------------ This message has been edited by SasyMama on 06-10-2001 at 03:35 PM |

Sassy, the grill is an M&L.stainless. Paul had it changed from the original design to include a border. Pretty cool I think. I tried but couldnt find the back posts-retail 1295. Gonna get one? Lets try to get a bunch of us together to save a couple of bucks. ------------------ |

Sasy- I would use a Silver TGF Spoiler on the Black Tie. JMO The grille was made by M&L Automotive in Wi.. Their link is on the home page. Been waiting to see one finished, AWESOME! All Solid Stainless Steel and Hand Polished every 1/4" bar and the 1/2" border. Very Heavy! ------------------ |

Paul-how much do you think this grill weighed? Do you think it would be worth having them make a light-weight model? ------------------ |

Al- I would guess about 20-25 lbs. They might be able to build one out of Aluminum, but I don't know how strong it would be. The offset weight of removing the bumpers still leaves the car lighter than with bumpers by far. Sasy- I did have to fit the mounting tabs, which are welded 1"x1 1/2" stainless steel. By bending to match up to the proper angles of the factory "s" brackets. I have to adjust the right side a little more to make the top even all the way around. I might have a total of an hour in the fitting. But over all am EXTREMELY happy with the ground effects, Grille & lite kit. Muchless chroming the parts under the hood, I can't seem to stop! HELP!!!!! ------------------ |

Paul, the more I look at it the better I like it. I liked it immediately but I like it even more now. Do me a favor, take it out and put it in DannyA's red car and take a picture and post it so I can make a decision. lol. I think it looks great on the purple and would look great on the black and the blue, but I am not sure it would look as good on yeller or red or silver or orange. I am anxious to see it in person in just 3 weeks. This message has been edited by ed monahan on 06-10-2001 at 09:43 PM |
