Hi,,,
Well, it is not enjoyable believe me. The court date was this past Friday, continued to Monday for some reason. This was arraignment. Our lawyer,, (thru different paths Dan and I have the same one) had the case continued to June seventh I think. This is where he will talk to the DA to get the issue dropped to a speeding,or a one point ticket. This is the best he figures could happen, and has stated he would be astounded to have it not go that way. It is a sobering experience to say the least, we were just having fun, and harming no one.. Really has gotten out of hand in my opinion. And believe me, that environment, (the court system)is not fun.

And no offense anyone, but I realize most people have opinions and different ideas about how this should be handled. But be assured we have explored most. We will see what happens...

Calm down Dan or it's going to be harder than it has to be.,,

We were sited for misdemeanors,, not infractions, that's why we have to go to jail to get BOOKED,,,,, only. Fingerprinted and a pic taken.. Lawyer or not, it would have to be done before anything can happen. Not pleasant for sure, but it can be done.

someone sent me these,, need some levity here.

Well getting booked or not ... this whole experiance will be one that I will not forget...

In the 33+ years alive, I've never had to step into a jail facility.

Oh well, do the crime, pay the time .....

Talk about getting humbled ........................

JohnS,

The burnout we did on the parking lot in Fremont was considered a misdemeanor
so therefore the District Attorney has filed a complaint charging a
misdemeanor. The normal procedures is to be booked. What this means is that
the police needs to verify that we are, who we say we are.

The ticket we got was too severe for the type of incident that happened.
This is why we have hired a lawyer to represnt us in this matter.
I have enjoyed a clean record and will continue to do so.

The lawyer needs to talk to the District Attorney to bring down the charge
from a misdemeanor to an infraction. This is considered a one pointer
versus a two pointer which helps us out with our insurance rates.

This is the latest news more at 11:00 on channel nine news!!

Seriously......don't worry, we will still love you even if you are an ex-con!

Sorry, couldn't resist.......everything will be cool if you are cool!

Dan, I'm really sorry if I opened a "can of worms" for you by asking how things went. You and JD are our doorway to the fun that performance brings, and we are all concerned on your behalf, wishing you both the best of luck through what has obviously become an ordeal.

Sometimes the "Law" sees things very differently from what we see, and my guess is that the cop who wrote you guys up was having a bad day - as it turns out, we are finding it was a very bad day! We are all as "guilty" as you and JD at one time or another in our driving lives. I'm surprised (and had no idea) that doing a burn-out in a parking lot was such a "bad" thing to do... I think someone has gotten a bit A-retentive and could have spent their time serving the public in a better way than to cite you and JD for being so (very!) unlawful.

Hang in there Dan (and leave the camera at home on this one) You guys are in our thoughts... Hoping for the best outcome for both of you...
