Hey, is it just me, or does the Power Outlet Cover look out of place? I think it looks like it belongs on a Neon or the top of a Coke bottle! Any ideas on how to replace this with a little class?Grubby ------------------

Grubby, the cigarette lighter plug from my Jeep is the same without the attaching piece and no script. Looks much better. I just cut the one off the cat and exchanged with the jeep. Should be able to get one at your local DC dealer.------------------ Yellow is DCOOLEST

John, That isn't your car is it? Who ever it belongs to I just wanted to inquire if they had the plastic piece painted at a body shop or did they do it themselves? Looks good. Would like to get mine done. Any idea on cost? Thanks in advance.------------------ Bob H.

Bob That is just a stock photo from the Prowler Club website. I just used it as a reference. It was most likely touched up on a computer. Grubby------------------

My guess that was Pat's car from Cincinatti, He had all the bezels painted purple. In the purple car it looked good. As for the socket cover, PAINT IT PURPLE TOO Or see about a chrome cap the same size, YOU HAVE ME THINKING HERE I installed chrome radio shimmer, 2000 chrome shifter bezel and 2001 300M shifter knob and it looks great, NOW YOU MENTION THE POWER COVER ---Help JAY, can you make a shimmer to cover it? My understanding is the radio bezel is the same as some of the mini vans, time to check out the salvage yards ------------------ Larry & Sue Mayes

The knob is $131.00. Just one set screw and that is it. Mine comes in tomorrow. I never did like that plain ole black leather shifter anyway.Richard ------------------ OhioSilverCat

Rich, I ordered a 300M special (chrome) shift knob yesterday and they said the list price was $50. I don't know if I ordered the right knob??? As soon as it comes in, I'll post pic of before & after... ------------------

I ordered this 300M 2001 shift knob from Kingswood Chrysler in Cincinnati today and he told me $130 with tax and it should be here tomorrow. It had to be prepaid! I got into a 2001 300M on the lot and looked at the knob first and except for the chrome is a duplicate of the Prowler's. It looks just like this: The part number that I ordered was 4593203AF-shifter-GE and Larry's part number was 4593527AA. I'll bet the guy ordered the whole shifter and the knob. I made it plain that I only wanted the shift knob. I will call tomorrow. ------------------ OhioSilverCat

The parts guy called me and said the part came in and was not chrome and that he had looked up the wrong price and will try the new part number (4593527AA) that I gave him from Laddie or was it Larry? Anyway, I think it will be more like $50 and not $130. Thanks Larry and Laddie Richard ------------------ OhioSilverCat This message has been edited by OhioSilverCat on 05-03-2001 at 01:19 PM

Ok here is the deal on the shift knob. The original part number for the leather/chrome knob was 4593527AA which is discontinued and replaced by a leather only knob with part number 4593203AF. My guy called a few dealers and found a chrome one for me and I will get it in a few days. If anyone wants one, then you need to search as they are going fast. They need to go to the stock room and look in the box to see if it is chrome.Richard ------------------ OhioSilverCat

Rich, a friend of mine ordered two in Baton Rouge & they came in today with the plain leather (p/n 4593491AA). We ordered the correct p/n 4593527AA. No one knows why the chrome p/n is being superceded by plain letter p/n. I just got back from my local dealer & the parts guys used the locator & called four dealers showing that p/n in stock (three in LA. & one in FL). no luck finding chrome... The FL dealer had already had another call from someone trying to order same knob... Maybe this is another portential after market item.... ------------------ This message has been edited by Laddie Roussel on 05-03-2001 at 04:30 PM
