Sure Pauley I'll stick up for the Robot. One of the largest problems I have with your boy Bush is his lack of environmental policies. If you remember the debates between the two, one important question was asked. What policies would you implement to reduce our dependence on imported oil. Gore's response, search for alternate fuel sources, put more money into research. Bush's response, open up Alaska's national reserves to drilling. Bush's response shows a lack of knowledge or uncaring of environmental issues. Fossil fuels produce carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide, greenhouse gases. I would expect an oil man to say damn the environment, full steam ahead lining my oil buddies pockets.
Gore's response shows a serious concern for our planet and forward thinking. Yes some of his policies and views would cause financial burden on our generation, but aren't future generations worth that, or should they have to fix our legacy of pollution caused by our short term policies.
I don't expect anyone who doesn't believe in environmental issues to be swayed by me. I could recite loads of scientific data pointing toward our needing to change our environmental behavior. I won't bore any of you with that.
No I'm not proposing that we all give up our Prowlers for tricycles, I'm not that much of a tree hugger
FYI, I have been laying low on this post since starting it because I think I've stirred up enough emotions and some people seem uncomfortable talking about or listen to political views which oppose theirs. Unfortunately living in the DC area that's all I get and am probably much more willing to talk about it than others. I did change the subject because it seemed rather low class after thinking about it. Just figured out I could change the subject, kind of neat.
You guys can send me all the tree hugger responses you want. You won't change my view, and even though I wish I could, I don't expect to change yours. I agree to disagree.
That's my environmental rant for tonight.
Enjoy yourselves, we are all here for a blink of mother natures eye. Let's not make her cry while we are here.
