One of my favorite movies is Field of Dreams. The new Mustang commercial shows a guy paving a road in his corn field. Then he walks over to his garage and pulls out a new Mustang onto the paved surface and gets out of the car. From the corn field walks out Steve McQueen. Gets in the car and starts putting the car through its paces. Have you seen this commercial? Kudos to Ford.

Been to the "Field of Dreams"... it is strange... it's "Just" a cornfield, but darned if you don't get all goose-bumply when you walk into it!

Haven't seen that commercial yet, Rich, but it's a great idea! Lookin' forward to it!

Haven't seen the commercial yet...

But, the POA was at the Field of Dreams site on the way to Crazy Horse POA Event July 2001. It was a real thrill to be on the field...

Can't wait to see the add. It sounds great. Too bad they can't have a Charger in the clip!

The Washington Post had a write-up on the 2005 Mustang today. They generally liked the car, but said it weighed a bit to much, around 3,400lbs. Also, they said it performed better on the open road and "felt heavy," and not very nimble in city traffic. Still 300 hp is a lot of pony's for a small car.

Just saw the commercial. It is good. A takeoff of "BULLET" isn't it?

I was it while at a restaurant this evening, but they had the sound turned off. It looked good even w/o sound.

Yup,,BULLET take off. Good commercial, enjoyed it.
The new 'Stang will sell big numbers. Ford knows how to target the market with success. I'd wait for an '06, after the first initial problems are fixed. JMO

I haven't seen the Mustang ad yet. Looking forward to seeing it.
Geno, you are correct. It is a cornfield that feels like a church. I love the movie, also.
The stop there on the way to Deadwood was great. The only downside was that is where I discovered I totally lost my throwing arm. I have fond memories of tossing with Laddie and Mike Gatlin (other than the fact I could barely get the ball back to them).

Ed - Gatlin told me that your fastball from the mound took three hops in front of home plate before reaching it!
Maybe T-Ball is more of your game?

Kudos to Ford...great commercial...great design...as I commented in another post...to bad DC missed the mark on the Charger. Thinking about Steve McQueen and Bullitt, reminded me that the Mustang he drives is running the streets of S.F. with a 68 Charger....now if the new Charger looked anything like the 68 version....can you imagine what a great commercial it would have been to have a new Charger that resembled the 68 version running in an ad against the new Mustang??? Sorry to disagree Jan, but if DC had any design creativity...we would be anticipating the arrival of a 2 door Charger, and not a 300 with a revised front fascia and a tweaked c-pillar. As previously stated...JMO! My apologies to all DC fans, as I AM a Chrysler fan, owned many Chargers, Road Runners and Challengers in my day...and would not trade my Prowler for anything, but I have no problem in admitting a good or bad design when I see one. In this case, Ford hit the mark...not so sure the new Charger will draw the same emotions.....

Sasquatch, I don't think it ever got to home plate.
I coached little league for years and threw batting practice a couple of times a week probably for 15 years and played softball until I was almost 50. Now I can't see, bend over or throw. I guess I will take up politics as my next sport. lol
Nonetheless, it was a thrill, literally, to be at the Field of Dreams. I would love to take my grandsons there in a few more years.

Saw one today, started it up, sounds incredible for a new car. Had to wait to get close to it because of the crowd. Ford has hit a Home Run...so much so that I actually went out and added Ford stock to my portfolio...Take a look at this car and remember, it sells for about half of what our cars sold for! Love Ford or hate Ford, they a going to sell a **** load of these cars.

I have seen them on the road, in the books and this commercial.

I liked it, would have been great with a dark green Mustang and a few rolling hills

The Cobra and convertible will be out next year.

Now if "we" (I work at the steering gear plant here in Indy) can get enough parts built for them to build the cars to sell them.

I would like to have one
