I guess Jim got more details than I did. I just heard he died of a heart attack Sunday. Either way, it's sad. He was truely a Super Man.

Very sad. Being a home health nurse, I care for people on ventilators and have used Christopher Reeve as an inspiration for my patients for some time. He is finally free and in a better place. My sympathies to the family. Goodbye Superman.

During a chat at the 1994 "Somewhere in Time" (cast, crew, & fans of the movie) weekend on Mackinac Island, Reeve fielded questions from us for about an hour.

One of those inquiries had to do with advise he would offer to those aspiring in acting.

"If you're serious about the pursuit of acting for the fame, wealth, and
trappings (commonly related to it), forget it. There are far to many in
this business with that mindset. If however, you wish to see what you can contribute to the craft, (are willing to starve), an opportunity to bring
your interpretation, learn, as well as take direction, & criticism, then, by all means do so.
There aren't enough doing just that. If you choose ANY other profession, you must do likewise. It's what you can contribute that becomes your barometer in life."

Even when he was at the peak of health, his mantra was giving, contribution.
He never wavered.
Christopher Reeve was not the underdog you rooted for.
For whatever reason, you just knew he would walk.

He was ALWAYS too busy counting his blessings to bother counting his liabilities & setbacks.
Not a bad legacy.....................

For all the great memories and all the hard work he's done for spinal cord research...we'll remember Chris Reeve!
Condolences to his wife Donna and his three children!
