I'm totally shocked Dan, and very sad to hear this

Do what you need to do, but you will always have a home and your friends here at the POA. Things will change and you will again be able to buy another cat. Ed might choke on a chicken bone,,,,and there will be two cats available in Cincy.

Best wishes,

Larry and Lethia

What Is the Meaning of a True Friend
By Christina Green
---------------------------------------------------------
What is the meaning of a true friend?
Are they someone that comes around when they feel like it,
Or are they someone that comes around on a daily basis?
Do friends hang around you just because you have something that they want,
Or do they hang around you because they actually enjoy your company?

Do friends let you make the wrong decisions,
Or do they do they try to give you a guilt trip
to keep you from making that wrong decision?

Is that guy or girl ditching you when they find out
that you are going through some rough times,
Or is that guy or girl there for you
to help you see your problems through?

If your friend is what they say they are,
Then they would be there for you no matter what!
---------------------------------------------------------

In the time I have been lurking the POA board, I'm happy to say I have met such people.

Thank you all for the vote of support. This is the first time I'm actually on the recieving end I think on this board. I for the most part have always been a giver.

I had some encounters with the IRS a few months after 9/11 I have not quite recovered from. The IRS are lethal when it comes to their money. Thru this I have moved some things around financially and gave me some breathing room for a few more years without having to lose anything.

I now want complete peace and unfortunately, I have to look onto my toys for that peace. My dad never got around to paying off any of his cars. He would always end up refinancing to get another one. That changed with me. I was blessed enough during the TECH boom in the Silicon Valley to purchase 3 brand new cars in the same year and pay them off in one year. I actually got to feel what that was like.

I'm only 37 so I have alot more life ahead of me. I just wish I did not have to look to my toys to feel peace from a financial burden.

I have prayed over all this and know GOD is in control. It is hard at times to believe in GOD during these times but this is when you must put GOD's word to the test. I will pass this test and move on to my next blessing. I know that it is impossible to please GOD without faith so I am having faith in him that he will come thru yet again. Everytime I have called on him he has heard me.

Sometimes he does not come when I think I need him but he is always on time.

Please don't count me out yet, some of these posts make me feel like I'm dying or going away for ever.

If I am to live to the age of my grandmother of 79, then I have 42 more years of life. Many things will happen in that time.

I'm still talented and my love for Prowlers has not changed. I have prayed that something will come by and I will not have to sell any of my toys.

Again, thank you all for your vote of support!!

Later..

I enjoyed it as well my new friend. In the spirit of our conversation, I offer you this:

Your burden

(Octavius Winslow, "Daily Need Divinely Supplied")

"Cast your burden upon the Lord, and He shall
sustain you." Psalm 55:22

Wonderful words! Their sense is magical—their
sound is music—their very utterance is repose!

It is one of those flowers culled from the Lord's
garden—penciled with beauty and laden with
perfume, which defies all human art to heighten
the loveliness of the one, or to increase the
sweetness of the other.

And yet, as most flowers are more fragrant when
crushed, and as the grape yields its sweetest
juice when pressed—a simple exposition of these
precious words, however gentle the pressure, may
prove a spiritual fragrance and refreshment to some
burdened child of God.

O my soul, what is your burden? Remember the
invitation is a personal one, and therefore includes
every care and need, sin and sorrow, that you have.
"Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain
you."

Whatever your burden, cast it in the prayer of faith
on the Lord. Peculiar and heavy though it may be,
His strength and grace and love will sustain you.

Encircled by His almighty arm,
upheld by His promises,
strengthened by His grace,
soothed by His sympathy,
comforted by His Spirit,
you shall not sink, for it is written, "Cast your
burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain you."

Dan ... I am not sure I am clear on the events back a few years (you said post 9/11), and don't want to jump to a conclusion that may not be accurate so I ask here for an explanation ... specifically since there is another thread seeking financial support to assist you. Is the IRS unfairly persecuting you or your business (have no idea if you are self employed or what) or is there some stock trade implication that caught you off guard? Lord knows that the Market has been unkind to a good many people ... I fall into that catagory, and while it paid for my Prowler, it has been an albatross ever since! You ARE young and perhaps with family as I ... times like these test our resolve and sometime put perspective on our priorities ... even if that means sacrificing possessions (aka "toys") to make it through to the next "opportunity". What ever you reply ... I wish you luck and patience, as he who perceivers usually winds up a "free man" from the burden that once encumbered him (or her for that matter -- don't want to be labeled sexist or incensitive to our female Kat owners).

Ray - JMO, but I look at it this way. Dan did not post "asking" for help. He posted his car was for sale. Many people replied on and off the board to him.

Someone posted a "hey let's help Dan" thread. I don't think Dan should have to answer any questions. Either you help out a POA friend, or you don't. If he has made the decision that his situation is serious enough he lists his car for sale and some POA people want to rally around him, I'm all for it.

I'm sure there will be many that won't also. If you don't want to contribute, no one will think the less of you. Sometimes you are in a position to help, other times you are not. I just don't think he or anyone should be asked to detail their situation.

I remember a year or so ago another POA member posting they were going to have to sell their car and someone offered to buy it but let the owner keep it until he was in a position to pay him back. I don't think the owner had to resort to that but the owner still has his car and it was a nice gesture on the part of the guy making the offer.
