Linda and I were out cruising Saturday night in our new PT with the top down enjoying the weather. We stopped at a traffic light. A 60' or 70's model Olds Cutlass comes up behind us and then pulls into the lane next to me. The guy kind of looks over at me, but I had no intention of racing. When the light turns I take off at my normal pace (which is never slow , just ask Cnote) and the Olds starts to accelerate harder . I lean on just a little more just to keep pace Then he punches it and pulls over in from of me as if to say you lose. I really wasn't even trying so it kind of ticked me off. About a mile down the road we both get on the entrance ramp to the interstate. Its a pretty long ramp that opens into its on lane for about a half mile. As I suspected he would , the guy in the Olds jumps on it as if to add insult to the injury he figures he just inflicted on our little four cylinder PT. But I was expecting it and was ready to see what the PT could do. He took off first, but I very quickly caught him. I continued to push him the whole length of the ramp. I could hardly believe it myself, so I know he couldn't. If I had the oppurtiny I am pretty sure I could have passed him. When we hit the interstate Linda says to me " do I want to know how fast we are going". I looked down and were doing a 100 mph. I backed off down to 75 and the guy in the Olds just kept going. I don't think he wanted me to pull along side him. This little PT Turbo really rocks. I turned to Linda and said man that was fun.

Kind of reminds me of a song that has the verse.
"Hey Buddy How Do I get Thing Out of Second Gear? Beep Beep"

Cool!!!

I still can't figure out why some people can't realise the improvements in technology, and I still can't figure out how they rated horsepower back then... Most cars of that era aren't as fast as they "supposedly" were.

Glad to hear your PT turbo has a win under it's belt... I would have been LMAO if I were there!!!

Very Cool, go get um Rich. The PT's reputation is on the rise. I once watched a guy drag race the original PT while reading the newspaper; oh I guess he was actually waiving at the crowd. No Problem Rumors

I think you all missed it.He never got in front of the old's and I'm sure Linda had to tell him how fast he was going.(I'm sure he can't read the speedometer without glass)

Thanks Butchee, I did not know about that. Less than $600 for 15 HP increase and 20 lbs ft of torgue. You bet.
