HEeeere we go!!!! . . . . . (again)

Will it be . . . . THE OIL WARS???

or

Will it be . . . . . THE FILTER WARS????

One never knows.

-GRROWL

P.S. - the only consistent advice seems to be - DON'T USE FRAM OIL FILTERS.

Sam, these days most all oils are fine. I use Mobil 1 and try to avoid Fram Filters because Alley Cat owns stock in Fram.

Thank you Ed for information on AC. I did look at the test result Fram and K-Mart brand are the same and rated at the bottom, AC Delco is on the top. I just want to know what the POA members choose on their filter.

Purolator?! yuck. Put a Fram in while you're at it GRROWL... Or better yet, just put a coffee filter around the oil filter fitting with a rubber band.

Why 5W? 10W is preferred. We don't go below 0 degrees here...

Yes, Purolator, with the emphasis on the "PURE ONE". A well-regarded, mid-priced filter which, in my evaluation, offers the best bang-for-the-buck. This week's buying advice - on sale at Advance Auto for $4.38 after rebate.

Hey, watch it! No reason to use the "F"-word.

BTW, remember those old toilet-paper filters in days of old?

No, 5W-30 MOBIL 1 is preferred - and gets the GRROWL says it's GRReat(tm) award.

P.S. - BTW, aren't you the one that swore by Mobil 1 oil filters, until you started swearing AT THEM when you found out they were $3 filters in a $12 package? (LOL, ITYS, etc. . . .)
