Call next time you come to town for NSRA - I always enjoy roaming the Fairgrounds when they are here.

butchee thanks for posting this I always enjoyed his talent

TUIB I too was a model hound in the sixties. Do you remember a model garbage truck that had been tricked out-had surf boards on the sides and people dancing in the back. I was trying to remember if that was Barris.

The Ala Kart was always my Favorite, I almost cried
when Rod and Custom posted pictures of it burned.
There are a couple of copies of it now and the orig.
has been restored. A local guy who lives in Webster
Groves a suburb of St. Louis ownes several Barris
cars including either a copy or the orig. Ala Kart.
He also has a copy or the orig. Dream Truck.
Barry
I just remembered the guy in Webster Groves is
Kurt McCormick. I remember him from a White Castle
where a lot of guys street raced out of, I only
remember hearing of him racing 1 time, a corvette
that had never been beat, and I heard he blew it away.
He had a full fendered red 32 ford with a blown Hemi. TF.
This would have been about 1970. I remember that the
Vette was about a 64 coupe in primer with a built 396
and a solid rear axle and slicks.

For years I liked George Barris' work more than Darrel Starbird's. After all these years and looking back, I think I've grown to like Starbird's work better. Both were a lot of fun.

Thanks Al. I hadn't tried to look up a web site on him. Brings back great memories.
