I bought a new computer and I can't find my application disc for Quicken Basic 99. I bought the new 2004 version and don't like all of the advertising and pop-ups imbeded into it. Does anybody have a program disc that I could borrow for a day or two to reload my new computer? |

I have Quicken 2001 that I think was still pretty much like '99. You are welcome to it. Email me your address if interested. I can mail a copy you can keep. Kevin |

Larry, Don't have Quicken 99, but do have Quickbooks Pro 99. Let me know if that will work for you. |

I have Basic 98 and Deluxe 2002, You can have a copy of either one if needed. I also have and currently use Basic 2004, I did not like it when I first switched to it, but now I won't go back to the others. There are a few things I did to stop the Pop-Up's and advertising that you mentioned. Start the 2004 program then go to EDIT, PREFERENCES, QUICKEN PROGRAM, go down to WEB CONNECT and uncheck both options then click OK, Then do EDIT, PREFERENCES, CUSTOMIZE ONLINE UPDATES AND Uncheck the three options on the connection link. This is what I did and I have not had any Pop-Up's or advertising. Another thing I did about five weeks ago was change my Web Brouser from Internet Explore to a Program called Mozilla Firefox, It's free, it stops all Spyware and all Pop-up's. Check out their website to see all about the program. Tate This message has been edited by Tate Daniels on 07-25-2004 at 05:47 PM |

Kevin and Jim, Thank you for your offers to help but after Tate's post, I've decided to give the Quicken 2004 a tryout. Jim, If you want to upgrade to QB Pro 2001, I have two copies and they are networkable. I played with Basic 2004 a little today but I'm still not sold on it. I do however like the icons at the top (much like my Quickbooks Pro 2001) instead of the sidebar like my 99 version has. I guess the biggest problem is that I just hate change! Tate, |

Thanks Larry, but already on the latest version. Got most all of them, starting with the original Quicken for windows. Like the way these companies work, after a few upgrade release's, you are forced to upgrade to continue to get support. Just finished installing latest AutoCad for the same reason. Love this built in obsolesence. Jim |
