As you all know, we are on heightened alert over the 4th holiday weekend. This, of course, means stepped up security everywhere for all the events. Locally, we have alot of petrochemical plants that are known to be terrorist targets. One of these plants was singled out and notified by the FBI to be specifically alerted. In spite of this fact, they tell us that they have no specific information that would indicate a specific threat. WTH is that supposed to mean? Sounds pretty specific to me. And the city officials tell us that if anything were to happen, that we are fully capable and completely prepared to handle it. Anyway, obviously, the local security was stepped up greatly around town. One of the sites with greater security was a fireworks display. Well, a couple rival gangs made an appearance and opened fire, injuring some innocent people in the crowd, before all taking off in different directions in different cars. NOBODY WAS CAUGHT! Not even so much as a license plate number was taken. Yet, remember the city's claim? Think about it folks... How safe are you REALLY? Is all you see and hear about how ready they are and how safe you are just eyecandy?

What if the US government told us there are Aliens from other planets and they could come down and scoop up anyone they wanted at night? How many Americans would go out? Do you really think they know where and when there will be a terrorist attack?------------------

I think they had enough specific information in this case to specify a certain plant be on extra alert from last Friday thru this Tuesday. But the point is, they couldn't even manage a license plate number, much less catch some gang members. How the hell do they expect us to believe that they will catch any terrorists?

With the introduction of terrorists into the world, and given their effectiveness to date, I estimate that my chances of dieing young have increased by about 0.001%.I worry more about psychos on the road more than I worry about terrorists.... cnote... are you still driving???

I'm 65 miles from NYC on the roads! Who knows how close as the duck flies! If one of those A holes sets off a nuke i hope its strong enough to burn me up right away. I don't want to have to kill people for food and water and die of exposure. Point is live your life there isn't enough nosey people in NYC to even notice. But in my town watch out! You plant a tree 1 " on your neighbors property he'll sue you. Us CT Yankees don't miss much. I feel safe here really. I think its another part of the countrys turn next time. Unfortunately!------------------
