Although I picked the Lakers in six, it is obvious that Detroit wanted to win the NBA Championship worse than the overpaid, show time, glamor boys of LA. They did it with hustle and better coaching. Larry Brown is a first class coach.

CONGRATS TO THE PISTONS

Tear the town apart!!!

Being a born and raised Detroiter...I have ALWAYS remained a PISTONS fan...and remember fondly the BAD BOYS days...and have watched each and every game of the Finals rooting for my HOME team...called my Mom and Sis already and asked them to get me a Championship T-shirt at the end of the game..as they are both big fans and were celebrating!...The Blue Collar Boys knocked out the Hollywood All Stars..CONGRATS PISTONS and for once I really wanted to be in Detroit to celebrate with everyone...it was a long 14 years since the last win..but well deserved..and surely they proved...the BEST team won...dominating the entire series!!!!

Does the new NBA season start tomorrow or not until next week. That season has become ridiculously long.
I am glad Detroit beat LA, too.

We spanked them good!! I'm extremely disappointed in the comments by the Commissioner during the trophy presentation. How much more condescending could he have been? Detroit fans and the Pistons didn't really considere themselves the "underdog". We had to be good to make it to the finals, didn't we? The Lakers' attitude toward the Pistons was definitely part of their downfall.. never underestimate your opponent.

The Lakers didn't "lose" the series.....the Pistons won it...hands down.

Congrats to them and all of the Detroit fans who have supported them the entire year!

I couldn't like a team less then i like the lakers! I dislike Shag because of his I'm better then every body attitude. It just goes to show you putting selfish players together no matter their ability just causes problems. Congrats to Richard Hamilton (UConn)and the rest of the Pistons on working together as a team! The lakers! Well there will be a lot of changes next year! Jack Nicholson have a nice Summer!!!

I've been plugged in to the Pistons since they picked up Tayshaun Prince from Kentucky. First Wildcat to play significant minutes in an NBA final since Kevin Grevey in the late '70's(!). It's easy to quickly become a fan of the Pistons, especially Rip and big Ben! I enjoyed watching them beat the Lakers, especially the way the media was all but handing them the chamionships trophy before they played a game (after signing Malonoe and Payton). And since the series wrapped, the press is still talking about how the Lakers lost, and the dismantling of the Laker team, instead of how the Pistons won... go figure!

Congrats to Detroit!
