Sanity Check

Read this question, come up with an answer and then scroll down to the bottom for the result. This is not a trick question. All the information you need is provided in the four sentences below. No one I know has gotten it right, including me.

A woman, while at the funeral of her mother, met this guy whom she did not know. She thought the guy was amazing, her dream man! She fell in love with him instantly, but never asked for his phone number and could not find him after the funeral. A few days later she killed her sister.

Question: What is her motive in killing her sister? (Give this some thought before you answer) then scroll down for the answer.

Answer:
She was hoping that the guy would appear at the funeral again. If you answered this correctly, you think like a psychopath. This was a test by a famous American psychologist used to test if someone has the same mentality as a killer. Many arrested serial killers took part in the test and answered the question correctly. If you didn't answer the question correctly, good for you - you're normal. If you got the answer correct, please let me know so I can take be extra nice to you from now on.

Very good!
My honest answer was thinking her sister was seeing this guy pushed her over the edge...killing her because of that.
Let's try and test it on a few friends now!

Roman -

My guess was the same as yours.
I would have never guessed the right answer. I never guess the ending to mystery shows, movies or books. My simple mind just does not work that way. I'm either dumb as a rock (many think this) or actually sane. Probably both!

I'm like Larry, there's only one motive listed... so how could you get it wrong???

let's see...
- meet guy at funeral.
- fall in love with guy.
- can't find the guy.
- duh... let's have another funeral!! If he knew the mom, he probably knows someone else in the family, right?

You could replace "funeral" with something else, then it should make more sense, logically, to someone more sane..
- meet guy at party.
- fall in love with guy.
- can't find the guy.
- duh... let's have another party!!

I assumed that the man was in some way associated with the funeral: the gravedigger, for example, whom she might have trouble locating if not for another funeral.

WOMAN: I just can't quit thinking about that hottie gravedigger. I wish I had his number.

SISTER: Well, the next time there's a funeral, just show up and maybe he'll be there. Helen, what are you doing with that butcher's knife? HELEN -- NO! --AAARRGGHHH!!!

Hmmm, maybe I do think like a psychopath.
