So far, on Saturday evening we attended a local "CRANK IT" show with the PT Cruiser. Thought about entering, but Pat wasn't up to her usual screaming, so figured we'd just watch and listen. A regional car audio event - the best effort was by the "SPLBug" 168.4 decibels. Although the SPLBug website hasn't been updated recently, you can see the car. Has a 24,000 Watt system, an equivilant to 19 6-volt batteries, and only has two-15" subs. Very interesting car. Maybe a mod, in the future, for the Kat.

Today we ventured down to El Paso, TX to an SCCA autocross event in the Honda S2000. We both got to ride as passengers, certainly an experience neither one of us will forget. Next time we might have to be the driver as they say being a passenger is very difficult - we both experienced some vertigo and nausea, although Norm rode three times with a novice driver (best time 78 seconds) and Pat only once, but with a more experienced driver (time 70 seconds).

On the way home we stopped to check out the view of El Paso from about 5200ft. And we didn't see any Prowlers on I-10 headed east.

Looks like tomorrow, we'll stay home - leave the roads to the folks coming back home from their long weekend trip.

Ready to sumo?

Jerry MEANCAT
Cox News Service
June. 9, 2004 12:00 AM

AUSTIN, Texas - When 250-pound Jery Meancat - he with the tattooed 'Tom and Jerry' cartoons on his massive left arm - faces an opponent, he slaps at his "mawashi," the belt of a sumo wrestler.

Thud. Thud. Thud. Always three or four times.

"I like the sound of it," he says, "I do it to psyche myself. I also see guys slap at their legs and faces."
