Is it a clone 442 from a Cutlass? and is it a 400 motor in it? Neither question would stop me from buying the car cause it is very nice either way, but I just wanna know. I appreciate your time,,,,,,Doug I had the Pontiac franchise in 64 when they came out with the GTO. The sales were so good that Olds later came out with the 442. I think it was in 65. Since the GTO had a 389 V-8, I was interested if the Olds 442 had a 442CID engine. One afternoon, I went over to the local Olds dealership. I picked up a brochure on the 442. The Olds liturature (?) said that the 442 stood for: 4 passenger, 4 bbl, 2 doors. Since we had a 389 V-8 with Tri-Power, we therefor had more H.P.

I was wiping her down when I noticed that the vin on the dash was different from the one on the drivers door. Could this be a factory mistake or has my new kitty gotten someone else's door? I hate to ask but if you would run these vins maybe it will shed some light on the issue. Dash vin: 1C3EW65G32V100195 Door vin: 1C3EW65G32V100147 Thanks in advance for your help.
