By the Joe Amato Top Fuel Dragster at the Cajun Sports Nationals at No Problem Raceway. We have two TF cars (the other from O'Reillys) running exhibition runs. This is not the Amato regualr race car (just used for exhibitions).

I've been helping out at the track since Thursday and we wrap up tomorrow. Over 700 race cars from across the country & Canada with a huge crowd today.

This was my 1st time to see Top Fuel in person and that is fast. I'm not sure they're that much louder than Top Alcohol (which I've seen before) from my vantage point about 150 directly behind the starting line.... I've taken a few pics in between my duties & I'll post some after this weekend when I get back home...

Here's the Top Fuel car leaving the starting line on 305 mph run... 8,000 HP and yes the fire would be quite a sight at night...

You can see the top fuel cars run pertty regular at the national events in the 4.40's at over 330 and the funny cars in the 4.70's at speeds over 325 mph is a real thrill to sit in the grandstands and watch this in real life if you ever have the chance you should make it a once in a lifetime must do, but make sure you have good ear protection.

Have spent a lot of time at the drags, especially when I worked for the motorsports company. Love it! There's nothing like the sound (and feel) of a top fuel dragster! I loved it when they used to run at night......when you can really see the flames!!

I'm with CJ--the sound of a Top Fueler or Funny Car is awesome!

Here's some photos of the Amato Top Fuel run at No Problem running a 4.80 ET & 305 mph...

From Friday when they were testing the track with run. Actually only ran about 1/8 mile and shut it down...

Saturday towing the TF dragster up to the starting line...

Getting ready for burnout ...

Just leaving the line on the Fastest run in Louisiana by the Amato TF dragster 4.80 ET & 305 mph... 8,000 HP and you can see the fire as it takes off... I would agree this would have to be quite a sight at night...

Here's link to results from Saturday.
http://www.nhra.com/2004/sportsman/sportsnationals/saturday.html

We had six hours of start & stops due to rain yesterday and finally postponed final eliminations until today... Not sure I can make it out. But, it was lots of fun...
