I just returned from premier night at my local dealer. I thought it was nicely done and informative. The only thing missing here was a Crossfire convertible. ------------------ |

I went to the premier night and was treated like a member of the family, everyone at the dealership was very friendly and glad to answer any questions we had. I drove a PT Cruiser Turbo Convertible and was impressed with how nice a car it is. I have a 2002 PT, but the Convertible drove and rode much better. The only thing missing was a Crossfire Convertible, they said it was due in next week. I received my silver coin and the Dealer was providing Hot Dogs, drinks and chips for everyone. This was a very good P.R. event for a small cost to Chrysler. |

I went tonight too. The cars are nice and also no Crossfire convertible. The PT convertibes look great - like a hot rod ready for a car show!! They also had a candy apple sedan with black upper body that looked nice. The 300C is much nicer looking than the new Caddies. The dealer has 6 hot boxes (salesman's offices) and three of them were in use with people buying cars! |

No convertible crossfire, no magnum, and no pt convertible. Did have a T&C with stowable seating, a pacifica, a 300C, a crossfire coup, and a new viper. The time spent test driving the 300C was worth the trip. Very impressive! It's pouring down rain here and I was thoroughly impressed by the traction control system. From a dead stop full throttle accelertion with very minimal wheel slip. Incredibly quiet. I've got to get one. Let me know when they hit the Employee Choice list! OK, I just got back from this. I also drove a 300C - AWESOME!! Lots of Mercedes influence in that car, I think. The dealer tells me that none of the 300 models qualify for Mopar's Friends & Family Progarm but that could change at any time. I'm seriosly thinking about one... |

I went to 2 dealerships tonight. (I got 2 invitations.) At the first one, all the employees were in tuxes and they had a live jazz band. Had a buffet of finger foods laid out on a PT Convertible. Nobody knew a thing about any coins for the first hour and a half. I must have asked at least 6 times to test drive the 300C sitting out front but all they did was stall. One guy told me the Crossfire convertibles were due out in May, another guy said in June. I finally got my coin from their parts counter and left. (I HATE that dealer anyway! When I bought my minivan from them, they threatened to call the cops on me for autotheft after trying to back out of the deal when I drove off their lot, and wouldn't accept my check. - Long story on that one...) Then drove to the other side of town to the other dealership. This is where I bought my Prowler. When I walked in, they immediately greeted me, saying, "The prowler guy is here!!!" (I drove my minivan) and took me over to get my coin. Offered me a handfull of 300C, PT Convertible, and Crossfire Convertible coasters, and directed me to the wine and cheese (and meats and crackers). Everyone was very relaxed and cordial. No Crossfire Convertible, and didn't know when they would have one, but they did have a BEAUITIFUL PT super turbo with a Blue Tie paint job. Their 300C was on the showroom, so not available to test drive tonight, but it had 104 miles on it from others driving it, so at least they're willing to let it out the door. They even said they would search around and ask the parts department for any remaining Prowler items that they have sitting around for me. Maybe I'll have a few things to donate for raffling in the future. This message has been edited by idive on 04-23-2004 at 01:41 AM |

Went to our local dealer last night... Had a great time, the wife and I meandered around the showroom floor while others test drove Crossfire, PT turbo convertible and 300C Hemi. Cheese (of course, it's Wisconsin), meat tray, crackers, punch (no wine ), and a cake that you wouldn't believe (hand done by a local lady with the Chrysler logo, wing badge), all sat on a table in front of a Jazz duet, an older fella on a bass guitar and a lady singer/trombone player... they were WAY cool too! Eleanor and I were treated like celebrities, and I practically sold a crossfire to another couple. The dealer, and his crossfire expert salesperson, both stood back watching and giggling. The couple had just made some comment (I forget) and Eleanor and I overheard, stepped in, and started offering positive comments, product information. When the salesman approached, the dealer "held him back", snickering... It's great to have fun, aint it! And another HUGE bonus for me was meeting the dealership owner's dad, a great man and a car buff (like most of us). We spent 10 minutes at least chatting about his old car collection that he once had... and he knew all about us...like you, we're 'the prowler guy/gal'.... in this small town. Got the coin, had a blast This message has been edited by GenoTex on 04-23-2004 at 06:59 AM |

I had a blast driving the 300C. What an impressive car! That was the only thing I drove last night. Too bad I want another Prowler, otherwise I think I would be buying a 300C. ------------------ |

At the last minute, I got my invitation delivered directly from the DC CEO in Auburn Hills. They had my silver tux delivered to me and had a limo pick me up for the trip to the lavish Scottsdale Chrysler dealership. A few notable names attended the Scottsdale showing,,,,,Warren Buffet, Colin Powell, Allen Greenspan, NBA players, NFL players, Geo. H. Bush, Billy J. Clinton, Rick Mears, etc. The food service catered was your choice of primerib or lobster. The Rolling Stones were our musical group for the night,,,,but I think Keith Richards spent half the night in the back on the tent where the bail of high quality weed was smoldering and the bong tubes where attached by the hundreds. Our test drive cars were the supercharged Crossfire SRT convert. with a 3.2 V-6 330hp, a tweaked 300 C that could light up the tires, and a ME Four-Twelve 850hp Ultimate street machine,,,,,only the best for the Scottsdale event. BTW - each attendee was given a Wells-Fargo bag full of those coins. Quite a night,,,from what I remember of it! |
