....I was at a local DC dealer today and the owner told me they were being directed by DC to remove any signs that have the Chrysler Pentastar and to remove the Pentastar from the windows in their dealership...... .....remember when Chrysler put the little gold plastic Pentastar on the passenger side front fender....a friend of mine restored a '69 Daytona for a guy and they got into an argument ....car owner claimed the body shop owner had "lost" one of the Pentastars and just filled over the hole.....to make the customer happy, the body shop owner just drilled a new hole and mounted the Pentastar emblem on the driver side as the car owner requested......

DaimlerChrysler has been working for a long time to remove the Pentastar wherever it appears. They are just now getting around to encouraging the dealers to remove them. They are looking for consistency in image portraying "DaimlerChrysler". DaimlerChrysler is the logo for the company, done in a particular font. It's not likely that they will ever remove the Pentastar from the tower building at headquarters. It is part of the building structure.

In 1963, the pentastar logo, representing Chrysler Corporation's five automobile divisions (Imperial, Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge and Valiant) was introduced. It was done to refresh the corporate image.
