Congrats to the UCONN Huskies for winning their second NCAA hoops title! As I predicted, the best game would be UConn-Duke game on saturday with the winner of that game taking the title. G-Tech has nothing to be ashamed of, they made it to the finals, but tonight they were outplayed and outcoached. JMO

Wedged between Boston and NY people in CT love sports! With No professional teams its that much more special to have two of the best teams in college Basketball. It would be a great year for CT if the women could pull off three in a row!! I'm really looking forward to UConn football this season. With BC, Pitt, Syracuse, West Virginia,Georgia Tech, on the schedule, UConn has arrived in Division 1 football also. Hopefully it will follow in the basketball teams footsteps for success.

Now if the UCONN Women can beat the Lady Vols it will be a clean sweep! My inlaws from Naugatuck, CT are at the Women's Finals tonight. Should be a great game.

Chuck.

Now you're going out into dreamland... I might as well throw Tulane into that dream... UConn vs Tulane in National Chamipionship Div I football... Maybe I need to wake up and smell the coffee...

Laddie---UConn Just opened its New $100 million Stadium last year! Its Sold out Now and It was built so they could expand it in the future! They have 4 games on this year on ESPN. Three Thursday night games! 9-3 in there 2nd year of Div 1 isn't bad! With UConns basketball success its helped put there Football Program on the Map! I'm Not talking National championships, just bowl games. With BC, Pitt,West Virginia, Syracuse, Georgia Tech on your schedule, if you have a winning record you should be invited to some bowl games. In basketball you need 10 guys! In football you need 35 to 40 Good ones!!

OK Chuck.

I would agree UConn could make a BCS bowl game with that schedule and appropriate power ratings.

However, Tulane won't come close to BCS bowl or maybe any other bowl...

I admit having two NCAA Champions from one school is an amazing feat. But no city can boast what San Diego accomplished this year. Yes folks, that's right, we are the first city to win the first draft pick in both baseball and football in the same season!! We were so proud of the Padres after the 98 Series that we voted to build them a new ballpark in the heart of downtown. Of course the last six years have been a different story and our new ballpark opens tonight sponsored by.....dogfood. And our beloved Chargers? Winners of 12 games the last three years! We had a great knock knock joke two years ago. Who's there? Owen. Owen who? Owen Fifteen. LMAO Too funny. So now the Chargers want to leave San Diego and go to Los Angeles. Too bad Los Angeles is fighting the move more than San Diego is. San Diego would love to lose the Chargers and become the permanent home of the Super Bowl, just like Hawaii gets the Pro Bowl.

So as you UCONN fans toast your double mark of distinction, don't forget San Diego is still celebrating its unequalled athletic accomplishment. Too bad we do not have a basketball team or we would reach for the cellar in three sports!
