As I sit here watching the UAB/Wash. game ruin my bracket yet again (not to mention Manhattan...) I was just wondering how everyone else who's doing the NCAA bracket thing is performing this year. I called all the wrong upsets myself, but I expected a lot more out of both Princeton and Air Force. The halftime scores were just that tantalizing :p

I missed 4 yesterday and 5 more today. Out of those 9 misses, I only had one of them winning the next game, so maybe I am doing okay.

I am no longer concerned with my brackets. Now it is just watching as a fan.
Go XU.
Wildcats and Bearcats bit the dust.

For the first time I can remember, I didn't fill one out.

I guess I kind'a gave up because the last two years my wife did better than I did and her criteria for picking teams was she liked the city or state they were from, like their mascots or their uniforms!

Tons of upsets as usual. Stanford & Kentucky not in Sweet 16?

People around here whining about North Carolina's close loss to a better team (Texas) and NC States's total collapse in the last 2 minutes in an upset loss to Vanderbilt. At least we've got Duke and Wake left (for now).

If you had asked any SEC person which 2 SEC teams would still be alive? I doubt any of them would have said Vandy and Bama!

Tough loss for KY... not much else I can say.

I would have never guess Vandy and Bama would be the two left.

Sorry for you that UK lost, but I'd be lieing if I didn't say I was glad that Kentucky got beat. Please don't get mad at me, because it's not that I dislike Kentucky, but because I believe it removes the strongest opponent for an ACC club.

Heck, Wake will probably lose Thur., Duke and Ga. Tech may lose Fri.; which will leave out the ACC.

Who knows? UAB Nat. Champs? UConn?

If I had to pick NOW, I'd say Kansas out of St. Louis, Pittsburgh out of E. Rutherford, Duke out of Atlanta and UConn out of Phoenix. But this is coming from a guy who originally would have placed Kentucky in the Final 4!!

Ed:

I'm sure everyone in Cincy is extremely proud of Xavier's run. They sure played with a lot of heart and if Myles hadn't fouled out who knows.

Duke's frontcourt depth just won out in the end and they had to use 11 fouls by their big men to do it.

Most everyone would like to see Duke fall, even here in their home state. Down here they are viewed as a bunch of arrogant yankees. But they sure have built a powerful program for a little (5,400) southern Methodist school.

Should be a great game. A few days rest should make it even better with Okafor's back and Duhon's ribs. Okafor may be the best center in college ball, but I think Duhon is more valuable to his team's success. The college game is so guard oriented, especially in tournament time.

I know you don't expect me to say "Good Luck", but I will wish UConn a good and safe game.

A Prowler calendar as a friendly wager?

Randy, that was a good run and a darn good game until the end. It looked like both teams got tight in the final 10 minutes. I thought some of the calls were a little much but they were calling them both ways, just calling it very tight. That changed the game with all the big guys in foul trouble.
Doelleman looks pretty good for a freshman.

Sorry. I posted incorrect info. on enrollment at Duke.

The 5,400 is Graduate/Medical school enrollment, with a full enrollment (including the above 5,400) of 13,000.

Saw something else interesting. 90% of this year's Engineering School students had SATs ranging from 1440 to 1530. I guess those below 1440 were special exceptions for for athletes/Affirmative Action and those above 1530 are the ones too intelligent to monitor.

What about the Women's Final Four... I've been watching a couple of the Women's games and they can play basketball... The Women's game may be better than the Men's game... They have come along way since I remember them playing six people 3 on each side of mid court line....

I still have Duke and UConn in mine but was pulling for Xavier yesterday anyway. My first two rounds were pretty good - I was in third place out of 38 in our pool, now the best I can do is eighth.

The wager is on! For women and men or just men?

All joking aside, I really don't expect either of Duke's teams to win it all. I know Duke's women beat UConn in Hartford, but I think they have gone as far in the tournament as they can unless everything falls their way. Chris Duhon is hurt worse than they are letting on. I've seen him play numerous times and he is 60% at best. Without him at 90 to 100%, they got to play at their very best to advance.

On football. Thanks for the offer, but I wouldn't drive the 45 miles to Durham to see the worst team in the history of the ACC. I am just pulling for Duke in basketball because of the conference affiliation, because they are close by and I do love their style of play.
Believe it or not most of the b-ball players are very bright. K has a few of them on a fast track 3 year graduation program so they can get their degrees in the same time frame as their atletic careers, since many of them go to the NBA after their Junior years.

Randy-----It was a really close game! Thanks for the Calendar! It could have gone either way! Would like to see the women win also, i think everyone else is going to catch up with them next year! I don't see anymore back to backs for Uconn in the future!

Congrats to UConn! They deserve the win. I sure thought Duke had it with an eight point lead with less than 3 minutes to play. I've never seen them seize up like that. Gotta credit UConn's defense.

I doubt if GA Tech has anything for UConn, but who knows. They're the only team to beat both Duke & UConn in the regular season.

Disappointed but the ACC did have 2 teams in the Final Four and a slight chance tonight.

Sent me your address by PM so I can mail the calendar or
if you would rather I'll make a donation to POA in your name. Please let me know on either.
