I LOVE that show......my favorite show and one of the very few that I watch......tape it on TIVO in case I have to miss it..........and yes, I'm from that era also. It's one of the few decent shows on TV. This message has been edited by CJ on 03-15-2004 at 06:10 AM |

TYRA BANKS GUEST-STARS AS A VELVELETTE, EVAN & JARON AS THE EVERLY BROTHERS, BEN TAYLOR AS A SINGER IN THE LAIR, AND JILL RAPPAPORT RETURNS - As Jack (Tom Verica) begins to learn about city politics, Sam (Arlen Escarpeta) becomes more aware of the societal differences in the world. Meanwhile, Roxanne (Vanessa Lengies) and Luke (guest star Jamie Elman) are conflicted as they try to decide on the fate of their relationship, and Patty (Sarah Ramos) and Meg (Brittany Snow) share an unusual sisterly moment when Patty takes the rap for crashing their father's car after Meg confides in her about Beth (Rachel Boston). Beth finally tells her parents her secret, and they give her two choices -- neither of which is easy. Meanwhile, JJ (Will Estes) resumes his life as a top Marine, where he is promoted to a squad that rescues American POWs. Tyra Banks ("America's Next Top Model") guest-stars as a Velvelette singing "He Was Really Sayin' Something," Evan & Jaron ("Crazy for This Girl") guest-stars as The Everly Brothers, singing "Wake Up Little Suzie" in the Vinyl Crocodile, Ben Taylor ("Famous Among the Barns") guest-star as a singer in the Lair singing "In My Life" (Beatles), and Jill Rappaport (NBC's "Today") reprises her guest-starring role as a music reporter. It's a great, down-to-earth series that reflects what it was like to live in that era (as a lot of us did) and with the social and political issues of that time. The Vietnam war, racism, everyday growing-up problems...a very grown-up and updated version of some of the old favorites like Ozzie and Harriett, Father Knows Best, etc. with American Bandstand as a plus. No nudity, swearing or crap like that! This message has been edited by CJ on 03-15-2004 at 09:01 PM |

I must be living in a cave. I've been back in the US since Aug and I've never heard of this show. I detest sitcoms and game shows and reality TV so I don't turn on the TV much. Will give it a try in a few weeks. I'm heading off to Mozambique on vacation Wednesday and they don't have much TV. For you Viet Nam-era folks, anybody else see Fog of War? It's primarily about Def Sec McNamera and it's a documentary. |
