We left Cincy at about 11 AM (I had no idea the sun came up that early at this time of year) and arrived in northern Detroit at 3 PM. Picked up the cat and trailer and went to top off the gas cap and decided I needed to put on some front flaps. One was really tough and the other one was a cinch. Not because of glue, but because the right fender is much lower than the left and consequently is closer to the tire. I got both of them on, with the cat on the ground and only a 10 mm open end wrench. I will take them off and put on some loc-tite later this week.
Then we attempted to put on the trailer bra, which had never been out of the box. The temp was mid 30's and the bra was not really all that flexible. We got it on, but not correctly. Good enough to hit the road, though. We ate at Cracker Barrel and stopped for gas a couple of time and were home by 10 PM. When I filled the Candy Cat the mirror said I had 198 miles left in the tank. It was full since some even hit the ground. How are you guys getting 250 or more miles to a tank?
Have I got two cats with goofy gauges?
Cat is in serious need of a bath and was that way when I picked it up. It does not have ceramic pads and had been sitting so it is only dust, nothing major.
The trailer was full of extras that had never been opened.
I will have trouble sleeping tonigh with the rims that dirty. lol.
I am happy to have it home. We were going to pick it up in a trailer but the weather cleared up and we did not even see a puddle, up or back.
Thanks again for all the offers to help us out with the pickup of the cat. I really appreciate it. That is the type of people that hang out here. Special people.
I think the fender is out of whack from when they did the ball joint recall. They probably took the fenders off to do it from the looks of the bolts.

ED, hope your trip is a good one.
Good luck and it looks like you will be spending some time in the garage cleaning this one up.
To bad that DON has delivered all the side panels already, you could have gotten a set for the new candy.
After the scare that you gave me about them being delivered, I replaced my pacemaker battery and have plenty of energy to help you clean the Kat for you, just stop by here in So Cal (Simi) and I will clean it up for you and take it home to you.
God speed.

I told Sandy to take off work and clean it up. Or she could work second shift at work. Wait a minute, she needs to work overtime to pay for it. Now I am in a quandary.
Thanks, Al.
Always was, Gary. lol

Congratulations Ed.
Glad to hear your new cat is home in Cincinnati, sounds like Sandy has her work cut out for her. Maybe Janet should come over to help her!

Candy A$$ Monahan - CONGRATS on the new ride

Your first mistake, since you picked it up north of Detroit, was NOT to stop at CJ's place and let her completely detail the new cat for you. Also, Bob could have done the mud flaps and trailer bra for you while you enjoyed the ending of the NASCAR race in the warm house. CJ does a 5 Star detail work and thus saved Sandy the cleanup time so she can work more OT at the hospital. Needless to say, I'm somewhat disappointed in your lack of planning here, lol.

Glad to hear you have your new baby home safe and sound. I hope Andy can get over there soon and take some pictures of those dirty wheels, so that we have more dirt on you to post about

ENJOY THE RIDE and keep it stock!

Ed, the gas gauge is programmed to compensate for excess water in the gas tank, obviously h2o does not equal miles.

Also, had you spent more of your life figuring how to put them on instead of taking them off, the bra would not have been a problem!

Ya know, I had the trailer emptied out, truck full of gas waiting for you to call. Plan was to pick you, the car and the trailer up, haul you all to cincy then head back. I was going to insist that you buy lunch!

Congratulations ED!!

I love red Prowlers and the Candy is special.

You can now say you're familiar with both suspensions.. (solid '99 and smooth '02) How dramatic is the difference in your opinion? Describe.

Are you going to keep both Kats...one for Sandy and you?

Get some photos posted...can't wait to see...

CJ - I believe you have agreed with me on atleast two or three issues,,,,, Ed really screwed up not starting out earlier in the day and stopping at your place.

Ed - besides cleaning your cat up for you,,,,,,,,CJ said she had a large prime rib roast in the oven for a mid-day dinner at her house. Instead,,,,you opt for Cracker Barrel, Like I said,,,, "Poor planning!"

Congrats on the Candy and I know you're not usually a photo poster, but please make an exception and post some pixs once she's cleaned up.

Please, please send pixs before all the mods begin!

Thanks all. It is Noon and I am up already. Sandy snuck off to work at 6:30 AM while I was asleep. She is in deep doo doo when she gets home. lol.
CJ, we were on a mission. Get there and get back. A LOOOOOONG story but I will tell you when I see you. You should be happy for me, I have a car similar to yours. Yours looks way better than mine but I may be able to sneak up on you a little.
Andy, thanks for the offer. No plates. I will wash it in the driveway in a few minutes. It is up to 32 degrees. lol. I need to go transfer the title, etc. It is almost 50 degrees already so it is not too cold.
pics to follow.

Congrats on the new Kat Ed. Is this the one that gets the Deere side panels? It must have been a long trip if you were still asleep when Sandy left at 6:30 am. I did not know you ever slept that late. LOL

Congrats Ed. Hope everything cleans up well. You might check with Chromer, he went through adjusting his front fenders and he has it here on the sight, I think mine are not even either, so I am getting with him later this month to see how he adjusted his.

CJ, your car and Wayne (Atticus) Finch's candy at Gatlinburg pushed me over the fence that I had been sitting on. They both are great looking cats.
I am done watching Sandy wash the car and trailer and they are both pristine, other than a hairline scratch on the cat, about 3 inches long behind the driver's door. Vertical as if something fell and scratched it. Very light scratch. I am very happy with the condition.
Upon further review, the right fender may have been caught on the mud flap and rotated. The car has rear flaps but had no front flaps. The driver's side still had the bolts in the slots, since they are about impossible to pull out. It is odd that there are rear flaps, nuts and bolts on the left front and the right front is out of whack. I think it is fixable. I hope Sandy knows what she is doing when she tackles that project. lol.
