....One of my best buddies gives me a hard time quite often because I didn't go with him and some other guys to Woodstock.....( I had to work ).....I still hear the stories from various members of the group that went....we were fresh out of high school in the Summer of '69...I had a car payment and a girlfriend to support, no time to go to New York....in retro, WHAT A DUMBA$$...............

Uh...based on every documentary I've seen of it, you were the only bright one of your buddies.

Rainy, wet, cramped, mudpit, no place to sleep, no place to shower, no food, no bathrooms, trash everywhere, music either too loud (up close) or couldn't hear it (far away), no place to park, fights, bad drugs, ad nauseum.

Yeah, the good ol days.....

So were the riots at Kent state. Wouldn't have wanted to be there either.

BTW-Your picture proves my point about you being the smarter one of your buddies.

I saw Simon and Garfunkel in Central Park in Sept of 81. We were about 10 feet away, backstage. When we climbed up on the back of the security fence and saw how many poeple were out there we about went nuts.

I was supposed to go with some guys on the football team!!Some of the guys smoked pot and did drugs. I was afraid of getting arrested with them. I just drank beer (It was legal.) I was 15! My Dad would have killed me if i got arrested at woodstock. I had a weekend job and couldn't get out of. I wanted to go but then again, not. When i saw the living conditions i was glad i missed it! I've been on many fishing trips and have roughed it, but Woodstock was a whole different story.

I've tried as hard as possible to live my life without regrets but this one slipped through. I missed the van that was going by about an hour. Forget the bad conditions and naked girls, well okay the bad conditions, it would have been awwwwwsome to see Hendrix, Joplin,Richie Havens,Santana
and the talent list goes on and on. And all at the same time! I can't let woulda coulda shoulda's get me but I Woulda Coulda and Shoulda! Once in a lifetime op. Jeff

I couldn't go, but I do have an original
Woodstock soundtrack (vinyl) with original (certified by a court certified forensic handwriting specialist) autographs of the original The Who, Jefferson Airplane and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young on it. On day I will have it framed in a show box.

....since you have taken the time to have it certified, I am sure you know you have a MOST valuable piece of rock history......most of the signatures are worth a bunch by themselves, let alone a group of them from that historic moment in time.......HOW IN HELL did you ever acquire this.....STORY PLEASE !!!

Tangled

Several years ago I decided I wanted to collect a few pieces or rock memorabilia from the 60's. I scouted around, read up on the subject and contacted two or three reputable collectors for advice. This piece from Woodstock came from a collector in Florida. I can't give the exact name as most of my stuff is in storage. I am building a new house and I'm in an apartment now. I debated and thought long and hard before I bought this piece. My two prize pieces are an "Are You Experienced," LP autographed by Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell. Mitch is the only one still living. The other prize is a Tommy LP, autographed by all the original Who. It's easy to get burned, and you just have to be patient.

Yip, I went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but only got through the lower level and the 1st floor. I have to go back so I can finish it. I would think that would be a great place for Prowlers to meet up. Great science museum next door too. Took in an Indians game while I was in town. Also would like to visit the Experience Museum in Seattle some day.
