Any one read that article in Hot Rod about the turbonique engines used on the drag cars? I found a lot of web sites also on it. Essentially they were connecting rocket engines with a turbine to convert to mechanical motion and gearing it directly into the rear end of the car. Smokes the slicks the entire 1/4 mile!!!

Wow! If that doesn`t give you (or me)some wild ideas!

Lets see. 100 Estes model rocket engines on a mount 10 X 10 configuration and a go cart. 9 newton lbs thrust each engine = 900 lbs thrust for about 3 or 4 seconds. = LOTS OF TROUBLE. Better quit daydreaming.....

man--that's some old techonology. I read about that when I was 16. Are they still around??
