No, not Pete. He is a local. I see him around still, even though he now lives in Fla and Cal. He was at the next table at Cracker Barrel not too long ago. He is signing his book tonight at Joseph Beth Booksellers and tomorrow at Media Play. He is very approachable and will sign autographs all day long.
I don't think any sports figure would do the trick. The Wright Bros or Alex. G. Bell, changed the world for all of us. They didn't set records, they actually changed the world.

Hate to be redundant but it would be my dad as well. He passed away in 1969.

Also i sure would have liked to have given my mother a hug. Any kind of one actually, as she died about a month after my birth in 1936.

Well, it would be my dad. He died of cancer when I was 11 and it was Christmas Eve. I was lucky to spend the last three days with my mother before she passed away in 2000.

Thankfully my Dad lives across the street
so I would have to say, The hand of Jesus Christ. (hopefully I will someday as long as I keep changing from my evil ways)

It's a slam-dunk on the dad thing. Miss him every day. See a lot of him every time I look in a mirror. Maybe good thing, maybe not. My close second will knock your socks off: Dave Thomas, Burger King( OK, I remember now it is Wendys. Sorry. LOL) founder. His work for adoption will live with us for a long time. JMO

I remember an ad for a life insurance company many years ago that had a late 20s/early 30s guy looking in a mirror and saying that when he was young he didn't want to grow up to be like his dad, but now he wonders if he'll ever be even half the person dad was...

How True Bob..I spent the majority of my adult life butting heads with my Dad. We finally made the peace in his last 3 years of life. I never had the chance to make the peace with my Mom as she went when my life was in turmoil and she was the one that gave of herself the most. If you still have them around, consider yourself lucky. To those that lost their parents, children or siblings,I share your loss.

Both of my parents are gone, but we always had a good relationship. My mother didn't like some of the girls I brought home and she didn't understand the music I listened to, but when I had my share of bad times, she was right there with me step for step...

Tough choice.
Jesus, Ronald Reagan, my Granddaddy Cobb & Dave Thomas.

The first three are obvious and I probably would not have thought of Dave Thomas unless Gray Ghost hadn't posted him.
The best thing that has ever happened to our family is the placement of Logan and Madison into our home!

Everyone who had a Dad who was special to them would choose their DAD! I Miss my brother also, my Mom, Uncle etc. My relatives were all very good people and taught me a lot.If it was not a relative i would like to shake a guy like Sargent York, Audey Murphy, or any of our Armed forces men and women who died fighting for our country! You only have one life, and to give it up to make others lifes great is a unbelievable sacrifice! I want to shake your hand! Also all the people who work in the medical field who save lives every day.
