Do you think there will be more Prowlers at Niagara Falls or in Texas? WHY?
I really can't decide. We will be at both of them. There are more people who live within one days drive of Niagara Falls, but I don't know if there are more Prowlers in the region. (I guess I ought to refer to VaCateDude's map.)
There are a lot of Prowlers in Texas but it is a long way just to get to N. Mexico. Hopefully some of the huge California delegation will be in Texas.
This post is not meant to start a controversy.
It is not a contest.
Both events will be a huge success and both will be a total blast. If there are 25 Prowlers at an event it is still going to be a ton of fun.
I am just curious about how others think. Is it too far to drive? Are they too close together in time? etc.
Our opinions will not affect the outcome anyway. See all of you at both events. Hope there are more than 100 at both of them.

Ed - At my last count, Texas had about 115 registered cats without Mike's fleet added into the number. If we can draw half of the Texas owners to the event,,,it's going to be HUGE. I'm hoping that Larry Lord (So-Cal) and Phil Horvath (Nor-Cal) can get the message out to their big list of California owners to make them aware and consider attending the Texas event. This in no way means I'm not hoping to see the owners from the rest of the states and Canada attend, just stating that we need a big helping of support from the Texas and California owners to swell the numbers. I would like to see a group of owners from all the regions of the country attend this event. It will be a dream vacation to get away from the daily grind and be able to meet with, cruise with, dine with, and talk with the owners of the car we have in common. Forget your tasks, problems, work, or business for a few days and ENJOY life.
See 'ya there!

We are closer to Niagara Falls, but we are choosing to go to Texas because we have never been there before and we can only plan on one major Prowler trip a year. So, personally I am hoping for a good turnout in Texas.

AC, what Texas list are you looking at? I would guess Texas. For several reasons:

The of the draw of the High Voltage Blue Prowler and the whole Krehel museum.

There is a huge and very active group in Texas and Arizona and this will give the California group a better opportunity.

There was a general event in Canada just last year.

Since we haven't been to Texas for an event, this is a definite for us. This could change but right now it doesn't look like we will be able to make Canada this year. I am curious to see if attendance at either or both events exceeds the Smokies. I hope so.

I would hope next year there would be only '1' major event and stay that way, not pointing fingers here by no means.

Either one will be a blast.

Have I ever suggested wrong about an Event, Colorado I started(then, nannevermind)and at the same time suggested Dollywood and PMed Ed to do that. Anyways, Tahoe/Reno would be a perfect spot for a event, beautiful roads and nightlife,,,, time for something on the left coast and then the right.

Again please one huge event a year, it only makes sense and the time to start planning is NOW.....

Hopefully both events get a hundred Prowlers - I am trying to make both events. I think there are a number going to both events - the real troopers (or the retired ones ).

My guess is that both will do well. They are far more Prowlers in the south than the north, however us northerners relish every chance we get to get out driving

Ed, agreed that this isn't a contest. I will do anything to help out both events (I'm sort of the spokesman for the Canada Event - others are doing the real work). I know the entire Canadian planning team wishes Texas all the best - because we have discussed it at our meetings.

Here is a better question - will more Canadians make it to Texas, or will more Texans make it to Canada.

To me what really matters is that in any event, bigger or smaller, having a group of Prowler owners together will turn out to be a success. It is not about the size but about the group itself.
The Ontario group has been working dilligently planning and organizing this event so there is a little in it for everyone. Also we have been talking about going down to Texas and joining the group down there.Time will tell how many of us will make it down but we're hoping for a few.
Like Ed said-it is not a contest!
I will personally try to make the Texas event and make that 116 cars then.

We would like to make both Texas and Canandaas well as Pigien Forge for a day or two plus possibly a long weekend to Woodward.

With Reba's new position she only gets one week off this year so making all will be tough.

We'll be at Texas and if I am not working out of town I may go to Canada too.

I agree that Prowler events don't need to be a contest. They are all fun!

I am trying to decide which one to attend also. Right now I want to got to both and may be able to work it out. Having to work sure gets in the way of enjoying the Prowler!!
The pros for Canada are the nice weather, it closer to home and I have never been there!
The pros for Texas is the museum and I have a nephew who lives there and I want to expose him to the Prowler fun!!

For those that live a long distance from an event, do owners haul or drive their Prowlers to the event?

Bob,
A lot of people drive to the events regardless how far. I prefer to trailer the car on the long trips and drive the shorter ones. But trailering or driving the most fun is hooking up with a catavan along the way. I ran with 3 or 4 cars/trailers to Grand Canyon, 16 rigs to Crazyhorse, 12-14 cars to Niagara Falls, and 20 something cars from Canada t the Smokies. When you hook up along the way, the fun and party starts long before you get to your destination.

I haven't heard of anyone having their are shipped at a $1.20 a mile for enclosed shipping, it can get expensive, If someone owns their personal trailer they usually trailer the car to the event.

I would think if there were 54 prowlers last year at Niagara Falls for a 2 day event, there should be more for a 5 day. I would think if there are so many Prowlers in Texas it will be a Huge Event! AZ-NM-Louisiana are not that far away!I'm Booked for Niagara falls because its a 7 Hr Ride for me! Texas is at least a 2 day drive, Mapquest says 28 Hrs 1900 miles! If the kids were out of school it would have been better for me. Time will tell. If i'm going to make these bigger events where its over a days ride, i should buy a trailer to bring my Kats! Answer!!!Texas Because everything is bigger in Texas!!Bigger doesn't mean better. The falls last year was fine for me! 54 Kats.Only reason to want more is just to meet more Prowler People. Its going to be hard to find prettier cruising spots then around Niagara Falls area

We should be able to make Texas this year. Going to Canada as well but not on the prowl. Taking the grandsons fishing from May 26th to June 5th in Manitoba. Then driving back home non-stop to leave for Texas.

Bob, up until last year we drove to all the events. However we bought an enclosed trailer last year and now trailer our Kat. However we did drive from Atlanta to Daytona for the Turkey Run last November. We will be trailering to Texas. We also are visiting family in Texas. Our son , Daughter in Law and 3 of our Grandchildren moved to Texas a little over a year ago.

Drive, drive, drive - getting there and back is half the fun. (except limping home from Cruising the Coast on three and half cylinders )

At the Smokies about 1 out 5 trailered their cars, the rest drove.

I like it even better if we didn't have to tow the trailer with luggage.

Interesting to see the reasons and some of the decisions that have to be made. I resent GaryC insinuating I had PMS. lol. A/C, what is work, tasks, business, etc?
Again, the most cars will not determine if it is a success. I am POSITIVE they will both be a success. We have two great groups of people planning the events. Even if nothing goes according to plan, you can still have a great time with Prowler folks. We are looking forward to both.
REPEATING, not trying to start a contest. See you all there.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone that comes to Texas in June! Whatever number we get will be great, whether it's 25 or 125 - we will be prepared and ready to go! Wish we could go to Canada as well - that looks like that will be a blast also, but unfortunately we have things that dictate for us to be here then. Hopefully they will plan another event that we could make. Ed's absolutely right - it's not a contest - anything that is planned as long as Prowler people are there will be great!! T

Don't have an opinion on that Ed, except that I will be at both.....regardless of how far it is or how long it takes to get there.

Personally, I think it is great that owners are stepping up and planning more than one large event. Due to vacation restrictions, distances, kids, etc. not everyone can attend all events. Having more than one in different places of the country affords everyone a better chance to get to more of a "major" event (or more than one if they can). So everyone, keep planning!!!

Have to agree with CJ and CT about having events around North America allowing many more Prowler Owners and Friends to share the experience of being a POA Member.

I feel that we can not all travel the great distances to meet all of our owners, but getting together as we did last year in Niagara inspired our group to plan this years event.

We have Prowler Owners in our group who have gone to major events and brought back the stories, videos and pictures to inspire us all to put the effort and time into planning our little events. I have meet some great folks and not had to travel more then one day to do so. When I read of others having to drive 2 - 3 days to meet other owners I feel lucky to be close to so many other owners and get the thrill of driving in a line of 50 + Kats.

So let's not look at one event a year but add up how many each year attend the events planned and organized by POA members, that will indicate the success of our group as a whole.
